Skylar's POV

What the hell did he mean one last time? The doctor comes in and checks all my vitals and anything else she needed to check. I can barely keep my eyes open, so I just fall back asleep.

Marianas POV

"Mariana." Sawyer shakes me awake,

"Hm, what?" I ask, "Fuck, did I fall asleep? On you?"

"Yup." he says, "You drool."

"Oh, sorry," I look away in embarrassment, "Is Sky awake?"

"She was, but the anesthesia hasn't completely worn off yet so I think she fell back asleep." he explains, "Surgery went well, she's okay."

"Good, that's good. Where are your parents?"

"They went to see her, they had us wait here until she wakes up." he says and Ethan sits on the other side of me, "You were in there long."

"I ran into Grayson."

"Why is he here?" Sawyer asks,

"He brought her here. Wanted to make sure she's okay. I told him off and I think he left."

"What part of him makes him think she would want to see him?" Mariana asks, "Did they say when she'd be awake?"

"An hour, maybe longer. They may give her more meds if she's in pain when she wakes up and it may make her drowsy." Sawyer answers and I nod, "I'm going to go get a water bottle from the vending machine, you want anything?"

"Just a water?" I ask and he nods,

"No, I'm good.  Thanks for asking." Ethan says,

"Got money?"

"But you have money for her?"

"Dude, what do you want?" he asks,

"No, Im kidding." he says and walks away. I look over at Ethan,

"What're we going to do about Grayson?" I ask and he shrugs,

"He just wanted to make sure she was okay, I think he'll leave her alone after this. He should, anyways." he says,

"And if he doesn't?"

"We'll figure it out." he says,

"He may have saved her life, we could've gotten there too late." she says, "I know what he's done is awful, and I hate him too, but the least we could do is let him see her."

"It's Grayson, Im sure he'll find his way to see her." I respond and Sawyer walks over,

"I got you cheezits, I know they're your favorite and you need to eat." he says and tosses it to me, handing me the water.

"Sawyer!" Sophia exclaims and all three of us roll our eyes.

"Ill be back." he walks over to her and Jake. I look at Ethan and he raises his eyebrows,

"What?" I ask, eating a cheez-it.

"Do you like him?" he asks and I look at him,

"What?"

"You slept on him, he's bringing you you're favorite snack and offered it only to you..."

"He's being friendly, my best friend just got into a car crash." I say,

"His, probably favorite, sister just got into a car crash." he says, "He likes you, but do you like him?"

"Not like that, no." I respond, "I've known him since he was five, he's too young for me."
