SUMMER
I watch the girl on the other side once more.
The short and curly brown hair fall above the shoulders, and the brown eyes look lighter because of the eyeliner. A small smile rests on the corner of her lips, satisfied with her look. The dress is black and though she's not quite happy about wearing high heels, it's worthy.
My phone rings, warning I just received a message and I turn away from the mirror with a deep sigh.
I'm so boreeeeed. Whatcha doing?
It was Ashton, obviously. I let out a low laugh trying to figure out how many times he had sent me that same message. And I would answer him the same way as always.
Not much, wanna come over?
There was no reply, and I knew he was already on his way here. The fact is, Ashton is one of my oldest friends, well him and Hannah. The three of us kinda grew up together since we met in school, what felt like ages ago. Now we're off to look for something more exciting than just studying and being our parents' children.
No, Sidney isn't the most amazing place on earth, but we know how to have fun. And though college starts in a couple of weeks only, we would probably find a way to balance things so we can enjoy ourselves as much as we can.
It doesn't take long till I hear Ashton's knock on the front door of my small and new apartment.
"It's open!" I shout, glancing one last time at my refection in the mirror.
"Where are you going?" Ashton asks frowning as soon as he comes into my bedroom and notice my clothes. I can't avoid blushing slightly at his look at my body, but let's ignore that.
"We are going to a party!" I smile widely at him and he rolls his green eyes, sitting in my bed with a sigh "There's this new club near the beach and it looks wicked..." I stop talking when I turn around to face Ashton. He had actually laid comfortably in my bed, shoes already off and he pretended to be asleep "You're such a dick" I say, throwing a pillow at him, what only made him laugh.
"I thought we could just hang out here and watch some movies, like we always do" He says, pouting "I'm too lazy to party".
"You're such a baby. We can do that when we get back".
He stays in silent for a moment, looking at his feet serious, he does that a lot. I think it's quite funny and cute, the way he stops to think something through.
"Is Logan going?"
Of course, that's his problem. My boyfriend. I can't really understand why Ashton doesn't like him, I mean maybe if they could just talk for a while, they'd get along pretty well.
"No Ash, he's not coming. He has to work"
Ashton doesn't even try to disguise the smile that cross his lips "Poor Logan, so dedicated" He sighs, pretending to be touched "But what can we do right? Is Hannah joining us?".
I laugh at him "Are you aware of how pathetic you are?" I ask, but he ignores me, looking for one of his shirts in my closet.
I don't know if that's weird, but because Ash, Hannah and I spend a lot of time together in each other's place, our clothes end up being forgotten some times. He soon found a white shirt that he left when he slept over after some party.
"I'm not even sure if I ever washed that" I warn him, but he doesn't seem to care, taking off his ripped AC/DC shirt and putting the other one on "What's your problem with Logan anyway?"
"He's a total asshole, how come haven't you notice that yet?"
"He's not an asshole, I don't date assholes. If I did, I'd probably be dating you" I mock.
