Boxes (Medium Poem)

I refuse,

to be restrained to these boxes.

I refuse,

to be sorted into two categories.

I refuse,

to be defined by my gender.

I refuse,

to be asked whether I'm girl or boy,

Because I'm neither,

and my gender does not define me.

A/n: Now would be a good time to announce that these poems are addressing many issues in our society that I may not be necessarily hindered by or discriminated against for, but I find them important and necessary to talk about. I am not non-binary, but I know some people who are but don't have the voice to speak up about it. That's what I'm here for. If you feel there's an issue in this world, whether it's directly related to you or not, please feel free to DM me or comment about it so that I may write about it. I may not be able to, but I promise I will try my best. Thanks!
