'Yes, very good Ms. Y/N and Ms. Granger! That was a commendable article indeed! Take 40 points for Gryffindor!!'

Professor Flitwick was lauding me and Hermione for having submitted a ''well-written and absolutely marvelous'' article as joint homework.

'Of course, when two of the best girls in the year get together..'

'The other scatterbrains like us don't stand a chance.'

Ron and Harry were talking in low undertones behind our desk. Me and Hermione turned around and gave them beaming smiles which elicited fresh groans from both.

As we went towards the grounds, the boys still kept up a mutinous chatter.

'I told her she could've done it with me..'

'Beats getting a P in Charms anyday..'

Hermione whirled both of them around and said, 'Will you two stop it? It isn't that bad as you think!'

When Ron gave a deliberately loud cough, Hermione blushed and said- 'Alright, we'll do it with you the next time.'

Care of Magical Creatures was proving to be a pain in the neck. The Blast-Ended Skrewts were honestly, the worst. Sometimes I thought Malfoy was right in questioning Hagrid about the unreliable creatures he got.

'Good lord, not the Skrewts again! Why won't he teach like a normal teacher??' My voice wavered as we approached Hagrid's home. Hermione seemed on the verge of agreeing but was quelled by the look on Harry's face. Hagrid beamed at Harry as he said, 'Today you'll be taking them on a walk!'

'What??' I groaned in dismay and looked at the lethal creatures. Several others looked shocked, as if Hagrid had asked them to eat their hat; though honestly speaking I thought the latter was far better.

We entered the Common Room, almost an hour later, looking distinctly dishvelled and careworn.

The edges of my robes had been burnt and Ron's hair was singed.

'I've got nothing against Hagrid being half-giant' (for then, we knew about it- Ron told me and it was published later by that Skeeter hag anyway) 'but if he continues with these creatures the whole term, I'm going to complain to Dumbledore.'

Harry gave a weird grimace as he said- 'Well, I do wish he'd drop the Skrewts and give us something more pleasant...'

Hermione smirked and said, 'Well Harry, aren't you getting trained for the Third Task anyway? Hagrid is providing the creatures for the task, innit?'

'Hmm.. I guess you're right..'

'Yeah! Plus so many hexes, curses and jinxes to be learnt!!' I smiled at the thought of learning new stuff.

'Teach me a spell to make Trelawney look less of a bat' Ron said, pulling out his Divination homework.

'Yeah, and something to make her remember that a human can only die once...' Harry said, dumping a book on the table and wearily pulling out his quill.

'Well you boys have fun! C'mon Y/N, we'll write down a list of spells to learn..'

'Not the library?' Ron said, looking around at me as I walked out of the Portrait Hole.

'Yeah! I'll get you the spell!' I said airily, waving goodbye.

Hermione was just the best. She could get as excited as me when it came to learning. And were we so glad that we hadn't take Divination.
