From what Evan had told me I wasn't worried about going to the principal's office like how I used to be. I think the only thing that has been worrying me ever since was the note that said I'm next and the guy in the mask telling me to stay away from Jonah. I just don't get what is going on! The only person I could talk to about this is really Jonah himself because I have a strong feeling the masked man told the same thing to Jonah but the difference will be to stay away from me.
Anyways, I got to the office as fast as I could and sat down in the chair. I feel like I've been here in this room way too many times I thought I would've been.
"Ms. Jones please explain why your friend came onto school grounds with his motorcycle to only take you to class?"
"I'm sorry sir, but would you like the whole or short story?"
"Whole since we have plenty of time,"
"Okay well I had woken up on time and I decided to take a shortcut through an alleyway that would save me five minutes of running. But then I had tripped and injured myself -" I showed him the bandaged cuts and my ankle, "- the guy on the motorcycle is Doctor Evans who patched me up. He took me to school and didn't want me to be late so he drove his bike into the school,"
"Wait Dr. Evans? A tall and well fit man who works at Grand View Hospital?"
"Yes sir he does," The office door opened to reveal Jonah...I wonder what he's doing here. But then right behind him was Evan.
"Mr. Kai why are we here so early in the day today?" Mr. Smith looked at Evan and remembered that he was the doctor who took care of his daughter.
"Good morning Doctor Evan I want to thank you again for caring for my daughter. I really want to repay you,"
"It is no problem Mr. Smith and actually you can help me out right now. Let Kee and this fellow here, Jonah, go back to class. Jonah didn't do anything wrong because I was still in front of his class when his teacher sent him here,"
Mr. Smith looked at Evan as if he asked for something that was so pathetic of the sort. "Alright I can do that. I just hope this incident does not happen again okay? You two can go now. And thank you again Doctor Evan,"
Evan smiled and opened the door for the two students to walk out. "Thanks again Evan for doing that,"
"It's no problem Kee. You're like a little sister to me anyways," I smiled at his response and he got onto his bike that he drove right next to the office door.
"I'll see you sometime soon. Thank your family again for patching me up,"
"Will do, now you stay safe okay!" He put his helmet on and drove off.
I turned around to my surprise to Jonah. "What are you still doing here?"
"Nothing I just figured we'd go back to class together,"
Jonah and I walked next to each other and honestly there was an awkward atmosphere around us. I wanted to say something, to apologize for the argument but I can't seem to get words out of my mouth.
"I'm sorry," I looked at Jonah who spoke first. "I should've seen that you weren't in the mood to talk,"
"You don't have to apologize I'm the one who should. I snapped at you when I shouldn't,"
"To save ourselves from apologizing and sappy crap, we both forgive each other," I nodded in response. Then I remembered the torn up letter.
"Yesterday I know that you and Tori and were following me, I don't know why, but I found torn up pieces of paper that I know belongs to you, at least to Tori anyways,"
Jonah's face was embarrassed at first and then it lit up once I finished saying what I had to say. He asked what it said and I told him, "So that letter is really a letter written by Louis himself. So that must mean his letter to me exists but I don't know where,"
"What are you talking about?"
"I al-" Jonah stopped midway and looked at me. The way he looked at me was as if it was the last time he'll ever see me which was weird and not gonna lie but sort of creepy.
"Spit it out already,"
"It's nothing. I don't want you to get involved in it. Also I'm cancelling the tutor sessions...I'm really sorry,"
I stood in my spot, I was so confused and flustered. I just watched Jonah walk back to class on his own. What's his problem? He can't say he doesn't want me to be involved when I sort of am.
I wanted to yell after him and say how I thought he was going to help me, I thought he understood how I felt. But I guess not. Now the biggest question is should I go back to class or not?
I can handle seeing Jonah because I don't care anymore but I've already missed almost half the class....yeah I'm skipping. I can survive if I get detention.
.....
Lunch came around and I decided to get something from the cafeteria. I went down and saw Jonah with his friends. Then I saw Caleb with his. Caleb and I made eye contact but I looked away, I haven't talked to him ever since I snapped at him.
I was about to pay for my food when Caleb appeared, "Hey Kee let me pay for that. I want to apologize for not paying attention to how you felt,"
"It's alright but no need to pay. I should apologize anyways cause I snapped when I shouldn't have," I paid for my own food and left him. At least I ended on okay terms withJonah...I don't know what to do with him.
I didn't bother to stay in the cafeteria so I took my food up to the rooftop. I sat down and leaned against a big electrical box and ate my salad.
.....
School ended and I was walking home. All of my classes went by smoothly, Jonah and I didn't talk to each other and if we had to because of an assignment we would merely say one word or he would finish first and let me copy.
"Hey Kee!" I turned around and it was Caleb again. Honestly he's lowkey getting on my nerves. I couldn't turn back around and walk away...nah I can.
I did just that but it didn't stop him, he grabbed hold of my shoulder and held onto it. "Hey Kee I called your name, you turned around and then walked away."
"Oh I'm sorry Caleb I didn't know it was you from afar, what's up?"
"Nothing I was just walking and then saw you alone so I figured I'd keep you company,"
"No thanks Caleb but I'd prefer walking by myself,"
"What's up with you lately? You've been giving me the cold shoulder,"
"I'm sorry but I just really want to be alone. I don't want to talk to anybody,"
"But you can talk to Jonah?"
"I stopped talking to him and plus he basically said we're not friends,"
"Oh...just know I'll be here for you if you need someone okay?"
"Yeah thanks Caleb," I don't know why but deep down inside I can't trust him. I continued walking home and saw Ollie outside.
"Ollie why are you out here?" He ran up to me and licked my face when I bent down.
"I took him out, he was begging to come outside," Thomas walked up to us. "Thanks Thomas for doing that. So do you feel any better?"
"Yeah I feel okay. Still is a bit sore but I can manage," he said as he held onto his side. We walked back up the stairs slowly and Ollie was already at the top waiting.
Thomas and I finally reached the top and then I saw someone at my door. It was Tori.
"Hi...can I help you with something?"
"Yeah you can. I was nearby and actually this dog had torn up a paper that was from Louis. I went back and saw no paper at all so I was wondering if you had picked it up,"
"Paper? Oh yeah I did. I actually told Jonah about it earlier this morning, I figured he'd tell you."
"No he didn't bring it up strangely,"
"Okay well come inside,"
