The following story was a result of boredom, uncertainty, and arguably the most pitiful amount of sufficient free time on a Saturday night. On the other hand, one could also argue that the concept behind it arose from creativity, imagination, pure cleverness, and a strong sense of curiosity and wonder.
Two different versions of the same night. So what was it? Creativite ability, or merely two friends with nothing better to do? Well, reader, that's up for you to decide.
There are two sides to every story. That became the idea and major theme behind Parallel. Well, actually, not really. I just came up with it now. You see, dearest reader, I am the first author. Only a half of the full picture. Just the first step in an unpredictable path.
I conceived the idea myself, in fact, just a few hours ago: What if two authors wrote one story, only, the authors would take turns, chapter after chapter? One writes a chapter, and only after that is finished, the other must follow with their own. Each would have the challenge of continuing the novel the way they feel best, but also ensuring that it flows, makes sense, and makes for a good story.
I texted the idea to my friend, and before I knew it-well...Here I am, typing the Prologue to a story of where I have no idea will go.
The other author does not know my intentions in what to write about. Likewise, I know nothing of hers. The only information thusfar is the broad summary that I've provided. Purposefully broad, so that all we know at this point is that there are two characters: Jonah and Kee, that attempt to discover a sense of truth.
What will happen? What story is going to take place? What's it going to be about? Will it make sense? Will it be good? Could it be fun, like a game, maybe? Or will it fail and be a complete disaster?
Well, reader, let's both take that first step, and find out together, shall we?...
