Scottys POV
We continued to race to the medbay where we were greeted by a horrid scene , the beds were overturned along with tables and chairs , many people lay on the ground unconscious and bleeding badly
"Dayna !?" I called out but Kirk shushed me
"Are you mad!?" He whisper yelled at me
"I don't want to end up like those poor folks"
I guess he has a point , we continued to search quietly looking for any signs of where she would have gone of course this wasn't her doing I knew that , it was unity
I was taken out of my stream of throughly abruptly by red lights flashing and alarms sounding
"WARNING! VENTILATION SYSTEM DESTROYED!"
'Uh oh'
"Shit" Kirk snapped
"We have to hurry!" I yelled starting off down the hall at a run , Kirk went the other way , everyone was panicking and running out to the halls , which made my life harder when
"Chief ! Sir !" My communicator went off
"What is it !?? Make it quick !!"
"Sir we can't fix the ventilation! We have to make an emergency landing ! Also there's something in the vents !"
"Something in the ve - DAYNA!"
I shut the communicator off and ran to the nearest vent I unscrewed it and climbed inside
"Dayna ???!" I called but no answer it was hard to hear with the alarms
After about 20 minutes I climbed back out and continued running , I caught up with Kirk and we continued searching together when there was a pounding sound coming front the vent infront of us
Bang bang bang .......BANG
There was a loud crash and Dayna stood under the now open vent
"Dayna!" I cried
"Enough Montgomery scott" she snapped
Kirk stood tall and walked up to her
"Dayna maguire you are here by relieved of your duties as the main mechanic in this ship"
Her eyes flickered back to daynas true colour and she began to weep
"No ......I ...I "
"I'll destroy you all!"
"Please turn in your insignia"
"Noo!! It wasn't me captain -
"Kill them all you fool!"
"No !!! Stop it stop it !" She began hitting her head with her fists
"You will be escorted off the ship and you are here by banned on any other star fleet ships"
"NOOO!" She fell to her knees crying
"Kill them ...kill ....destroy them from the inside ....must not fail ...already did before ...can't do it again .... will be killed myself ......must kill them all"
She muttered wildly ...
'Come on Dayna you can beat it .."
"Where----where will I live ?" She sobbed looking up at Kirk
He stayed silent for a moment but then spoke slowly
"I've arranged for you to go back to therapy and stay there"
"NOOOOoo" she collapsed into a pile on the floor I rushed over to her and tried to wake her up I cradled her head in my hands
"Dayna ! Lass! Come on lassie you gotta wake up"
No reply
Her breathing slowed down rapidly along with her heart beat I rushed her back to the medbay and got her on to a bed that wasn't over turned
"BONES! BONES! GET HERE QUICK ....please help her .." I started to cry , Kirk came up behind me and patted my shoulder , bones along with other med staff rushed over and started to do their thing , we had to wait outside
"She'll be alright scotty"
I didn't answer just continued to sob
"She's strong , and pure of heart she'll get throug-"
"I love her Jim"
There was an abrupt silence
He sighed and looked down
"I always knew you did Scotty ......that's why I did what I did .."
"What do you mean ?"
"I told Jaylah about kissing and I told her she should kiss you to show how much she appreciated you .....then I made sure Dayna was in the correct spot to see ......I was jealous ....you have such an amazing relationship with her ..while I ......while I sleep around with every girl I can and don't commit"
"Commitment takes courage Jim ....you give someone your heart and you can't expect it back , you're young it's alright to live like you do but if you want more then I'm afraid that's up to you to work on"
He smiled and patted my shoulder
"Thank you Scotty ..........as a thank you I'll change the rule"
"You will?!"
"I give you my blessing Scotty , treat her right ya hear ?"
"Aye aye cap'n" I smiled too
Daynas POV (yay I'm back Miss me ?)
I woke up in the medbay I don't know how I got here or what time it is , heck I don't even know what day it is I looked around and there was many people around me all in beds bandaged up ...something terrible must have happened ...
'Ugh this headache' I was suddenly very aware off all the pain my body held when I tried to sit up
"Well hello sleep head"
I looked up to see bones smiling from the bottom of my bed
"Bones ? What- what happened ?"
"Well you caused quite the fiasco , to cut to the chase there was a parasite in your brain and it took over you , wrecked the ship and caused many injuries , but no one dead at least and the ships docked in the city getting repaired"
"Oh my ......that's ....a lot to take in "
"Yes I know but you can thank Scotty and Kirk for saving you , the parasite was going to shut down your brain "
"I remember Kirk fired me .....guess I'll have to find a place to stay.."
"Oh please I don't fired you so you'd stop wrecking my ship"
Kirk came striding into the medbay with a 'get well soon' card I laughed and sat up the best I could
"How ya feeling ?"
"As good as I look"
"So yer fully healed then" Scotty came in smiling I smiled broadly , they all sat down around my bed and explained in depth what happened
"Woah ...that's heavy" I breathed
"Aye ..." Scotty hugged me without hurting me
"I was so worried about ye lass"
I blushed since Kirk was there and gently pushed him away
"Oh that reminds me" Kirk blurted out
"I've changed the rules Dayna ...you and Scotty now have my blessings "
I couldn't believe what I had just heard
"You .....you changed the ? ..."
he just nodded
"Thank you captain" I smiled and kissed scottys cheek
I suddenly felt sick
"Bones can you get me a bucket?"
He did so and held it up for me , I puked my guts up
"I thought that might happen , an after affect of the parasite don't worry all the victims suffered some sort "
"Ok" I lay back down on the pillows and drank some water
"When is she getting out bones ?"
"Oh I'd say a week and you'll be free to go back to your chambers but no work for three weeks after alright ?"
"Alright alright I'm no Scotty"
"Hey!"
With that bones went off to take care of other patients
I felt tired and the two men left me to rest I smiled before closing my eyes
'At least everything is back to normal '
