Melanie POV

"Yo, Mel!"Ka'Mille yelled from down the hall. I purposely ignored her, focusing on putting seasoning in the pot.

"Melanie!"She yelled. I smirked to myself and put the small container down, picking up the spoon to stir the pot.

"Don't you hear me calling you?!"she spoke, coming into the kitchen. "I'm trying to focus,"I replied. My back was turned to her but I could hear her coming closer.

"I know how you like your food, I'm doing it."I say.

"I called you to bring me some watermelon but I'll get it myself since I'm in here."

"You better do it yourself,"I mumbled under my breath. She looked up from the bowl of watermelon, damn near giving herself whiplash.

"What?"

"Nothing Mille,"

"Keep ya mouth shut if you gonna talk spit, speak louder next time."She spat. "There won't be a next time."I responded, sighing.

"That's what I like to hear, good girl."She slapped my ass hard, making me drop the spoon. I rolled my eyes and rinsed it off, sitting it on the counter. Swear I be wanting to put poison in her food sometimes. But I can't because I be eating it too.

"Keep rolling them, they gonna get stuck."She retorted. She knew me better than I knew myself. Ka'Mille knows when I'm doing something wrong or when I'm feeling down. Even though we have our moments, she is the best thing that's ever happened to me... Or so I thought.

I placed the lid on the pot and put the stove on low. I went to the bedroom, about to get comfortable in the bed for a quick nap. "What you 'bout to do?"Mille asked, looking up from whatever video game she was playing.

"Nothing that concerns you,"I say, closing my eyes. I was about to pull the cover up to my neck but it was snatched from my body. My eyes popped open.

"I just asked you a question. Your reply wasn't a definite answer."She said with the jawstick in one hand, comforter in the other.

"I'm just trying to take a nap."

"Ain't no sleep bih,"

I huffed and got up only to be slammed into the bed. She hovered over me, we stared into each others eyes.

It's like she saw right through my soul when she looked at me like that. Damn, my baby so fine. "What you thinkin' 'bout?"She asked, still staring at me like that.

"You're so beautiful!"I giggled, tucking strands of her hair behind her ear.

She grinned, going down to kiss on my neck. She knew where all my spots were so when we did stuff like this I was all hers. She wasted no time in getting undressed and turning off the game. I felt her slowly filling me up as I slid closer to her. I wanted to feel it all the way inside me. Ka'Mille always made me feel good when she did this.

The Next Day—
Tuesday 4, July— 2017
Melanie POV

Today was the fourth of July, Ka'Mille is taking me to the fireworks show in Prarieville. We live in Louisiana so it's only thirty minutes away from Baton Rouge. We go there every year but this time I was really excited.

The show started at eight tonight and ended at ten. We always left ten minutes before ten to avoid traffic. Traffic in Louisiana is no joke and I hated driving in pitch black darkness. Not my thing!

We got dressed and headed out. "Wait, take my picture real quick."I gave her my phone to take the photo.

NBA Youngboy's Untouchable blasted through the speakers of her Bugatti Chiron as we exited the neighborhood. Ka'Mille's parents owned hella businesses all over Louisiana and some in other states. To top it off, she was an only child so when her parents died six years ago, all their money down to a single penny was given to her. Millions of it were in savings at the bank, although we had a few thousands hid away for emergencies. Ka'Mille doesn't work, she feels she's too good for that. I guess I don't blame her, she has enough money to last a few lifetimes. I on the other hand, worked. Well, I'm trying to. I'm still in school, trying to become a medical practitioner. I just have two years left before I get into it.

She stopped at Shell to get gas while I went inside to get us something to snack on. I got her Zapps Dill chips and hot fries for myself. I got in line for check out and waited.

I felt something hit my butt lightly so I moved up in line. I guess the line was moving.

I moved up but seconds later I felt a tap again in that same spot. I figured the person behind me was doing that on accident, considering he or she kept shuffling around. For what? Whoever it was needs to stand the fuck still before they cause a scene.

Louisiana bitches don't fuck around and as soon as they get pissed it was over with. I lightly tapped my foot, slightly annoyed by this person behind me.

"Stand the fuck still bitch!"I heard someone say. The person said nothing back. "Shut the door! Leave me alone."The person said, a girl. I could tell she wasn't from around here from her voice. I have friends with that accent, but they're from Alabama. I'm guessing she's from there too.

But wait! Who the fuck still says "shut the door"? Girl get the fuck outta here! I placed the two bags on the counter with two drinks, a sweet tea and a sprite. I paid and left the store getting back in the car. "What took you so long?"Ka'Mille's impatient ass asked as I gave her the bag to get her stuff out.

"Don't worry about it, just drive."I reply, getting comfortable in the chair.
