Melanie POV

"It's beautiful."I smiled, laying my head on her chest, watching the fireworks burst into different colors.

"They cute or whatever,"She replied, I rolled my eyes.

"You always tryna downplay they skills."I giggled.

"So they skill is popping firecrackers."

"Popping beautiful firecrackers."I corrected.

"Eh!"

"Oh you hush it."

Three fireworks later, I felt an urge down there. "I'm going to the restroom."I tell her, getting up. I walked all the way to the stairs, down them and to the restroom.

I relieved myself, looking down into my underwear, seeing dried up blood covering the blue colored panties. "Shit,"I mumbled, my legs growing tired of squatting too long over the toilet. I stood, rolling up hella tissue paper and putting it in my underwear. How did I not know! Dammit!

I sent a quick text to Mille telling her to bring her ass to the restroom this instant. I pulled my pants up, fixing the belt. I lifted my foot and pushed the button down to flush. I felt so sick, a sharp pain going through my side. Damn! I left the stall, going to a sink to wash my hands.

As I was cleaning my hands, I felt a hole being burnt in my face. I looked up to see a girl staring at me. I looked back down at the sink, occasionally looking back up. Every time I looked up, the girl was staring back at me.

"You gotta problem?"I asked, drying my hands with a paper towel. She shook her head.

"You look sick."She walked up to me. "You on crack?"She asked. "No, it's my period. My symptoms are throwing up, losing skin color for the first two days, laziness and not eating since you all in my space."I snapped.

"Oh that seems horrible,"She mumbled. "Is there anyway I can help?"She asked.

"Yes, by getting up out my jazz."I spat, feeling myself become limp. I fell forward, right into her arms. She broke my fall, holding me up.

I felt horrible, I needed an Ibuprofen, an Advil, a maddog hell I don't care give me something. "M-my girlfriend c-coming."I uttered, closing my eyes. "No, open your eyes!"The girl said, shaking me. I felt like I was about to faint. "What's your name?"

"Melanie..."I mumble, feeling a hot substance coming up my throat. I'm about to throw up!

"Well I'm Desiré, I hail from Montgomery, Alabama-,"She started but I interrupted her. "Not a good time to be introducing ourselves."I spoke lowly. I tried to swallow the hot substance but I couldn't.

I threw up on her just a bit before she pushed me away, holding me up over the trashcan. I threw up yellow, must've been that banana muffin I had for breakfast. Then red started to come out with it, the hot fries. Damn!

"Baby?!"I heard Mille say. She took me into her embrace when I was done throwing up. "I don't feel good,"Tears threatened to leave my eyes and I let them. I was beyond embarrassed. Mille helped me clean my face up and gave me a few icy mints. I looked up into the mirror, seeing Desiré stand there. I knew she was feeling awkward, just standing there.

"Thank you!"

"You're welcome! I'll see you around,"She uttered, leaving the restroom. I lifted my arms up and Mille grabbed me, carrying me bridal style. We went to the car and she laid me on the backseat, putting the blanket over my body.

"Gimme a got damn Advil."I demanded. My period cramps were unbearable, especially on the first few days of the week. "You need to eat somethin' first,"She said, leaving the parking lot.

"I don't wanna eat."

"You gonna get a stomach ulcer."

"Gimme ibuprofen then."

"No!"

"You like when I'm in pain."

"Don't go reciting Beyoncé."

"Gimme it then,"

"Nah, I'm good. We almost home anyway."

I sighed. August Alsina's Don't Matter sounded through the speakers. I turned it down, not really in the mood for that rowdy shit. Soon as I turned it down, Mille started singing. She was doing this shit on purpose, I knew it. She always seemed to aggravate me when it's that time of the month.

"When I'm all in the middle, where you wanna go now!"She screamed to the top of her lungs after I asked her to be quiet several times.

I turned my music off and unplugged the aux cord from my phone. I pulled the blanket over my head to make it dark.

When we got home, she carried me to the bed. "You can take a bath in the morning."She finally gave me some water and a pill. I took it and changed clothes, putting a pad on. Something loose and free. I hated wearing tight clothes around this time, makes me hot.

She put my night cap on my head and pulled the cover back, placing it over me.

She got in the bed, keeping a distance between us. She knew I didn't like to be touched on the first night. That night was so uncomfortable but I found a position that didn't hurt and stuck with it.
