only two more chapters HECK YES IM FINALLY FREE
It had been two weeks since Luke Solo had hit his head. Kiandra was glad to have been the one chosen to take Luke back to his mother. That meant that for the past fourteen days, she was training while Rey babysat little Luke. Now while she was traveling back to Leia, Rey would receive the same training. They had feared Luke wasn't stable enough to travel until now, so it had worked out perfectly.
Now Kiandra was sitting in the pilot's seat of the Falcon, remembering Master Skywalker's last words to her. "Trust in the force," he had said. She didn't know whether or not she trusted, only that she believed it existed and she could use it for good.
As soon as they could, they had informed Leia. It had been a few hours after the accident, and it hadn't been Leia who answered. Apparently, she had rejoined the Rogue Squadron to help protect Naboo from an attack that was set up by the First Order. Apparently, a lot had been happening while they were away.
They had left a message for someone to relay to Leia, and when she did eventually find out, she left an angry and heated message for them when they returned a few days later to see if she had replied.
The Skywalker woman had used some colorful huttese that Kiandra wished she wasn't able to understand, but fortunately for the other two adults in the ship, they couldn't understand what she had said. Kiandra wasn't able to stop cringing for a few minutes.
When they were finally able to talk with Leia and not just send messages back and forth slowly it had been a week since the incident, they had decided to wait another week until they were sure that the travel wouldn't make Luke sick.
The blurred white lines of hyperspace shot by along with the hours until suddenly they were ripped out of lightspeed. Kiandra immediately knew something was wrong and set her sights on the controls, looking for something awry. Luke came into the cockpit looking utterly confused.
"What happened?" He asked but Kiandra didn't get the chance to reply.
The ship jolted again, this time more forcefully. They started moving towards a ship overhead that was now in sight, and she recognized it as a First Order tractor beam. Great.
Chewbacca and R2 were both scrambling, trying to find someway to pull out of the beam, but even Kiandra knew it was hopeless. It was impossible to get out of these things, even in the Clone Wars era.
You know who's fault this is? Anakin Skywalker. If he had only waited a bit to have kids, this never would have happened. Stupid Skywalkers. She sighed in frustration, even though it was wrong to think like this. Get over yourself, Surrel.
Chewie howled something about how they couldn't hide anywhere on this ship since Kylo Ren knew every inch of this place, He did, however, know where the hidden escape pods were. "Well, lead the way," she said sarcastically, gesturing to the exit of the cockpit. "Sorry, I get rude when I'm anxious," she mumbled quickly.
Everyone could hear the door begin hiss open and so the need for swiftness and stealth was even greater. Chewie lead them away from the footsteps and towards a compartment in the floor. He quickly ripped off the tile and then opened up the pod by touching a panel.
Luke was the first one in, still confused beyond belief. He was then followed by R2. Kiandra could hear the footsteps get louder and louder, obviously getting closer. Chewie was the next one in and as she began to climb in too, the walking became running and then there was a cold hand wrapping around her wrist, pulling her away from the pod.
Before they could stop her though, she smashed her hand down on the panel, closing the pod and jettisoning it. In the glass viewport, she could see Luke with his hand pressed up against it, mouthing her name, but he was probably screaming it, she just couldn't hear.
"You're coming with us," a voice rang out, though it sounded muffled. It was probably from shock. She had just sealed her fate, quite literally, when she sealed the pod. The trooper's voices all sounded the same, speaking through the same vocoder. Kiandra felt numb as they dragged her off the ship to who knows where, but at least she had gotten Leia's son off the ship. At least she had prolonged their life a little more.
Only on more chapter now. It's been a two-year journey, but now it's time to end.
may the force be with you,
