Keep in mind that their ages in this book were altered... Leia is in her early forties and Han is in his early fifties, meaning Kylo Ren is around fifteen and so is Rey.
One week later...
"Kiandra," Leia called out to the blonde girl down the hall. She paused and turned around to see Leia waving Kiandra over. She had an offer for the younger girl that she hoped she couldn't refuse. Rey stood awkwardly beside Leia and kept sending her questioning looks, but she only smiled in return.
When Kiandra reached them, Leia began introductions. "Kiandra, this is Rey, and Rey, this is Kiandra. I was hoping she could join you on your mission?" She asked as politely as she could. Kiandra raised an eyebrow at that.
"And what would that mission be? I'm afraid I'm not up to date with everything here," Kiandra commented and beside Leia, Rey seemed uncertain. "I'm going to find Luke Skywalker," Rey piped up and Kiandra's eyes widened.
"That mission? You want me to go with her? Are you sure you wouldn't want someone more experienced to go with Rey?" Kiandra questioned nervously. Leia nodded in affirmation. "You, unlike many of the others here are force sensitive. I believe it is for the best that you go. If you wouldn't mind, I'd like to send my son with you. He needs the training and I fear that after losing Han, I'm no longer up to the challenge..." Leia sighed sadly, reminded of the grief that had begun to haunt her.
"You're son? Kylo Ren?" Rey asked in response, shocked. "No, my dear. My son, Luke Solo," Leia reassured her. "If you're up to taking him with you, I'd love it. I doubt he'd get in your way," she added one last thought before letting the girls decide.
"I'm all for it. I saw his skills that day on Alderaan, and you're right, he's not bothersome at all," Kiandra smiled, nodding her head yes. Leia smiled in return, then moved her gaze to Rey. Rey looked deep in thought before she too nodded yes.
"Alright, I'll give some time to get ready and then I'll meet you at the Falcon with Luke in an hour," Leia informed them before returning to her and Luke's quarters. She saw her son sitting on his bed, staring at a holo of Han and himself. Leia began to tear up, thinking of her late husband. "Luke..." She whispered softly.
Her son set the holo on the bed and looked into her eyes before jumping up and engulfing her in a hug. "I hate Ben, Mom. I hate him so much," Luke mumbled into her abdomen. Leia froze, never thinking she would hear those words sound so genuine coming from her son, and realizing that a small part of her felt the same way. "Don't say that... I know it's hard right now, but it'll get better. You've got me and your Uncle Luke, Chewie, Threepio, and Artoo, you'll always have us," Leia tried her best to comfort him. Luke sighed and pulled away, grabbing her hand for comfort instead.
"Luke, I want to send you somewhere safe. Artoo and Chewie will come with you, along with some of my other friends. You're going to train, like what you used to do with Aunt Sarah and Grandpa," Leia explained softly, tracing her thumb over his palm. "You'll be happy there, and then soon enough, you'll be back in my arms," she tried to smile.
"...when do I leave?" Luke asked nervously, the look in his eyes was devastating. "As soon as you're all packed up, is that alright? We want you away from the war zone as soon as possible," Leia reassured him, giving his hand a quick squeeze, though her heart ached at the thought of sending him away. "Yeah," Luke mumbled softly.
"Alright, let's get packing," Leia forced a smile and stood, grabbing a pack for his clothing and then a smaller bag for more personal items, like holos. "I'll pack your clothes while you pack anything special that you might want. I'm going to let you use Sarah's old sabers for now, until you get the chance to build your own." Luke nodded and began to wander around the room, grabbing a few small trinkets. All that he had was what they could salvage from the rubble of their old home and what had been on board the Falcon.
As soon as they finished, Leia pulled her son into a tight hug. "I'll miss you, but I want you safe," she whispered softly. Luke nodded slowly, holding her tighter. "Now let's go down to the Falcon. There are some people who want to meet you."

"Kiandra, Rey, meet Luke, my son. Luke, say hello," Leia urged. Luke looked between her and the two girls. "I have to go with girls?" Luke asked in shock and annoyance, turning to look at her, eyes filled with betrayal. "I'm a girl, aren't I? You like me, don't you? Aunt Sarah was a girl, didn't you like her? Now don't be rude, apologize," she narrowed her eyes at the boy who gulped in fear.
"I-I'm sorry. Hi, I'm Luke," Luke introduced himself awkwardly. "It's nice to meet you, Luke. I hope that over time you'll learn to like us," Rey smiled and held out her hand. Luke quickly shook her hand and pulled back almost immediately. "Don't like girls, huh? Well, I have a feeling that once you see us fight, you'll change your mind," Kiandra laughed.
"Alright, Luke. Now you be good, I don't want to hear a single bad word about you from these two ladies. I love you," Leia told him before pulling him into one last loving hug. "I love you too, Mom," Luke mumbled sadly. When he pulled away, she knelt in front of him and put her hands on his shoulders. "Make me proud, son."
WOAH IM ACTUALLY ALIVE! Yeah, I went through a pretty rough patch. I got a concussion which prevented me from writing for a while, then I lost inspiration once I could write again, and once my inspiration came back and I started to write this chapter, my dog died, which set me back almost another two weeks. IM SORRY! It's short, I know, but I had no idea where else to take this chapter. The next one should be better. AND THE NEXT ONE WONT BE ANOTHER ALMOST 2 MONTH WAIT! I (probably) promise! And hey if someone wants to write a one-shot or a spin-off from this series or create a cover or an edit or heck even a trailer I'd love you forever and use it.
may the force be with you-
