Lucius Malfoy was a lot of things, but one of the most important in his opinion was being head of his son's Parent Teacher Association. It was no debate as to why he had been chosen as acting president when Molly Weasley stepped down four kids ago. He ran his own business, of course he could run a few after-school meetings and lead a few discussions.

He brushed off his lapel as he sat behind the bake sale table with his son.

"Leadership and branding is what sells, Draco."

"Yes, father," Draco said nodding, though his eyes strayed across the street from his father's business to meet the green eyes of Harry Potter.

"-best that you learn all this before you graduate so you can come work at the firm immediately. Draco!"

The younger blonde's eyes snapped back to meet his father's questioning gaze.

"Yes, sir?"

"What are you-" Lucius looked around before he saw the table sitting beside the door to Potter's shop across the street. "What- were you looking at the Potter's boy again? Did you hear anything I just said?" Before he could finish talking a shadow passed over his table and he stood with a smile before he noticed who was standing in front of him.

"Lucius," The deep brown man nodded at both the boy and his father in acknowledgment. "Draco. Harry told me you and he made a wager over who could sell the most. Since I bought something from him I thought it'd only be fair to buy from you as well."

"It's fine, Mr. Potter," Draco said with a comfortable smile.

"Draco!" yelped his own father quietly in surprise before clearing his throat. "James, we would be honored if you bought something. It is only fair, of course. I may come get something from Harry as well. Lily's baking skills are phenomenal."

"I will absolutely tell her you said that," said James with a grin. He bought a few white-chocolate cranberry cookies then nodded once more and made his way back across the road to his own corporate building, ruffling Harry's hair on his way inside.

Draco cleared his throat as his father tried (and failed) to send an evil Malfoy glare across the city's traffic towards Harry who sat proudly behind the table covered in posters that Granger no doubt helped him with.

"You are going to sell more than him, son. It's merely the principle."

"Of course I am, father. On more than just principle."

"What have you bet this time?" Lucius said as he raised a thin eyebrow. Draco copied the expression almost exactly only letting a small smirk play about his lips.

"Would you really like to know?"

Luckily for both blondes, Lucius shut up after that unless he was helping make a sale.

By the end of the day they had sold out of both cookies and cupcakes twice. As one of the workers of Malfoy Industries came to clean up the station, Draco nodded to his father and made his way across the busy street to help Harry clean up his own area.

Lucius watched his son with pride. A true Malfoy helped the competition, he thought to himself, no matter what he stood to gain. Keep your enemies close and all that.

Lucius Malfoy thought one of most important things to be was being head of his son's Parent Teacher Association. That was, of course, until he lost that particular role.

It absolutely wasn't his fault.

He had been having a terrible day so of course this would be the icing on top.
