tis a sorta companion piece, love

[for those that haven't]
go read that then come back

Harry sat in the snow. His hands splayed out on either side of him and he leaned back and looked up as the fluff drifted down. The flurry picked up and he shivered more out of habit. He didn't get cold much these days. He wondered how long it had been snowing.

It didn't surprise him when he didn't know if it had been days or weeks or months or years.

He heard the footsteps before he saw the rest of him. Draco Malfoy with all of his sharp angles and pointed features and laugh lines and the ever-whitening slicked back mass that was his hair.

When had the other man gotten so old? Surely Harry would have noticed.

He thought back to the last time he had seen the man. Yesterday, maybe? No, it was before the snow he decided. Draco had brought flowers and lunch. It was what Harry had taken to calling a picnic.

Harry stood as the blonde approached and gave him a small shy smile. Draco made a noise soft in his throat before getting on his knees and rubbing his thumb across the engraved stone before him.

Here Lies The Body of
Harry Potter

Dearly Loved Husband
Aged 44 Years

Harry placed a hand on Draco's shoulder as they both sat as comfortably as possible then the blonde began to talk.

Harry laughed at all the right moments and asked questions the blonde answered anyway just because he knew Harry. Had always known him, really. He didn't need to see him to know what his reactions would be. Not as long as they'd known each other. Looking at his husband he could almost imagine this was just another lunch date. He could almost pretend the only barrier between them was only inches instead of death.

Harry watched the tears pool in the blonde's eyes and placed a kiss his cheek. Almost immediately Draco attempted to pull himself together before clearing more space off of Harry's grave and laying a note.

Curious though he was, he knew that Draco was more importantright now. He smiled small to himself fondly. The pointy git always had a way of being the only thing Harry could think about.

Draco had stood and was wiping vehemently at his eyes. He was clearly trying and failing to piece himself back together. Harry stood slowly and blew at a clump of snow he had managed to grip in his hand. He pushed himself outward, expanding the air around him until he felt himself be blown with the flurry making an even bigger clump of snow fall from the tree just above where they had been standing.

He watched from the branch as a thankful yet sad smile tugged at his husband's face. The blonde shivered before dusting the fluff from himself and chuckling. There were tears in his eyes again, but Harry couldn't help the wide grin that broke out across his own face. He was almost giddy.

Got you!
