Your POV

"I'm home!" I yell into the house as I close the door.

"I'm in the kitchen!" She yells back.

I take off my shoes and run down the hall, slamming into the wall when I fail to stop sliding. "You wanted to talk to me?"

Jeama nods and gestures for me to sit. I pull out a chair and sit down with the back of the chair in front of me. "Remember how... how in the hospital I told you that I wasn't your mother?" I nod. "Well, I... I promised to tell you about it, but I haven't gotten the chance to, as you were... too busy catching up on the... on the school you missed..." she says reluctantly.

"Is it that serious?" I ask.

"Yes, and I need you to pay attention for once. I know that you tend to-- (Y/n)," she snaps her fingers in front of my face and I blink. "Pay attention. I know that you tend to zone out, but please try to listen," she pleads.

"Alright."

She sighs and sits down across from me. "Okay, here we go...

"I'm not sure if you remember this, but your parents died in a terrorist attack. They were in the wrong place at the wrong time, and... they were injured... so badly injured... EMS rushed them to the hospital, and I took you to visit them, but they passed away a few days later.

"Your mother, Cyra, she passed first. She wrote a... a will, but it's not complete." She slides a white envelope across the table towards me. "She didn't get to finish it, you can... you can guess why."

My nose tingles and my eyes start to sting. "O-Oh... did my dad leave a will?"

"Yes, Leo did, and he had time to complete it." Jeama hands me another envelope, this time black. "I haven't read either of them, but I know it was complete since I didn't seal the envelope. I had to seal Cyr-- your mother's... envelope..."

Tears fall from her eyes and stream down her cheeks. It isn't until I feel something hot slide down my left cheek that I notice that I'm crying as well. The room becomes eerily quiet as we both silently cry, mourning for my parents, her sister, and her brother-in-law.

"Th...ank you for... for telling me..." I stand up and fix the chair, pushing it under the table. "I'll be upstairs if you need me."

I take her silence as an answer and solemnly trudge to my room. I slowly close the door and slide down the door, letters in hand. 'Which one do I read first?'

I put the white one down and clench the black one with my fingers. I rip open the envelope, careful to not rip the letter inside.

To my beautiful daughter,

I'm so sorry that you'll have to go through this... I still hope that your mother and I'll miraculously become better, but our future isn't quite as bright as it was before. I had asked your aunt Jeama to watch over you as a precaution, but my heart cannot bear to imagine you with another... you are my precious little girl, and I made a promise to you and your mother to protect both of you with my life... I guess I haven't done a very good job...

There's a key inside of your mother's will to a new house if you would like to move out or anything, but I do hope that you stay with your aunt, as she will need as much support as you need, right now.

I'm running out of time, my dear (Y/n), and I need to finish this off before my time runs out. I have to go, but I will be watching over you from up above.

I hope to see you soon, but not too soon. Please, enjoy your life while you can. Life's simply too short...

Goodbye, sweetheart. I love you very much.

Your loving father,

Leo (L/n)

I bring my hand to my mouth to stop myself from screaming in agony. 'He... loves me? How can I not remember any of this?! Why did I lose him so soon...' The corners of the room seem to soften, but I wipe my tears and pick up Cyra's envelope. With trembling hands, I slide my finger underneath the light paper and pull out a crumpled up piece of paper.

Dear (Y/n),

I hope you're reading this soon after I write it. This is very important.

I have to tell you something that your father does not know. I'm not who he thinks I am. I've done many things that I regret, but I will never regret meeting Leo and having you, my beautiful daughter.

I'm getting off topic, and it is critical that you know ASAP.

Don't trust anyone. Don't make the same mistake I did. Look where it got me and your father...

Damn, they got here fast. I love you. Please be safe.

One last thing before I leave, make sure you do not trust your

The bottom of the page is ripped. I flip it over, but the back is blank. "Who don't you want me to trust...?" 'Is my mother... dangerous? Is she bad? Did she do bad things? Was she a criminal?'

3rd Person POV

"(Y/n)! Dinner time!" The said female stands up and opens her door.

"Coming!" She shouts and proceeds to walk down the stairs to meet her aunt.

Jeama laughs before picking up her phone. 'It is done. She knows now.'

A small ding alerts the aunt of a new message. 'Very good. Don't let her find out anything.'

She giggles. 'Will do.' Jeama waves around a small piece of paper in her hand. 'Aunt' is seen on the paper before she rips it up into small pieces.

"No need for this anymore," she says as she throws it out.

"I'm here!" a voice says behind her. The purple-eyed female turns around and smiles.

"Hullo, (Y/n), I finished dinner! Come, eat!" the aunt pulls her niece to the table and sits her down. (Y/n) picks up her (utensil) and scoops up a bit of (f/f) into her mouth.

"It's so good! Thanks!" Jeama smiles warmly.

'No one'll ever know.'
