"Jade! Wake up, you got school girl! Could be so lazy sometimes. You're gonna be late!"
My aunt said yelling from downstairs. "Ugh.." I mumbled pulling my silky sheets over my head. She shouts again, louder this time around. "Jade Claire Mackenzie-."
"Ok, ok." I shouted loud enough so she could hear me. Not wanting to get up, I dreadfully got out of bed. A thought just popped up...
What the hell am I gonna wear?
I looked down at my ugly scar of my past on my wrist. I covered it, not wanting to remember, but it seems like my mind has control over itself. Memories, horrible memories flooded my mind so quick leaving me breathless. I felt hot tears running down my cheek
"Dammit!" I cursed to myself. I hated when I felt weak. Never again shall I go through that pain again.
"Jade, what the hell are you doing up there?" My aunt questioned.
Quickly remembering I have school in an hour. "Um, I'll be down in a few." I said, trying my best not to sound pathetic.
Ok J, pull yourself together!
As I walked over to my walk-in closet, I'm thinking on what to wear. Since it's the first day back to high school, I wanna look presentable... Hold the hell up, what am I saying? I don't wanna draw no attention. Looking up in the mirror on my wall with a sigh.
My auntie says I look just like my mother, but personality wise, my father. My ligh chocolate skin with strange deep brown eyes, and brown with a hint of gold wavy hair falling just below my shoulders. A shape that's above average. I guess you could call me pretty.
"Ok." I said with a sigh.
Picking out my ripped skinny jeans and my all-time favorite half shirt that says 'Don't Mess' and put my retros to the side. I love me some good ol' sneakers.
I headed in the shower. While the hot water ran against my cold skin I prayed today be an 'Ok' day. Stepping out, I draped my towel around my body and dried my hair. Letting my natural curls flow I added some curling cream holder so it could stay.
I put on my clothes sprayed my perfume and was off heading downstairs. There, I was greeted from the most beautiful, kind, and closes one... Let me rephrase, the ONLY one to my heart. My aunt is like my second mother I have since my mom past
"Hey baby." she said with a kiss on my forehead. "Hey Ma." even though she's been there for me, I just can't bring the words mom, mother, or whatever you call the woman who gave birth to you.
I viewed the breakfast table and was greeted with a warm smell of eggs, pancakes, and bacon. I sat, and dug in immediately.
Not wanting a single egg, or hot cakes to waste.
"Slow down sugar, it'll still be there. Ain't goin' no place." Ma said with a chuckle. "Sorry, it's just so good." After I ate, I cleaned up after myself and was headed for the door, but before I could ma pulled me in and planted a warm kiss on my cheek, and gave me a hug a bear would be afraid of.
I giggled slightly and came out of her embrace. "Bye baby girl, you be good now!" She said in her motherly tone.
"I will."
