I reached home and headed straight for the kitchen where I know my aunt would be, she stays baking.
"Ma?" I said.
When I heard no answer my heart race quickened
"Ma!" I yelled this time. Then I see a note hanging on the fridge. "Ja, I'm not going to be home until 7:00p.m be good! I'll try to get there fast. Love, Ma"
I headed upstairs to my bedroom. I looked at the bruises on my face not as bad. Thank God it wasn't really bad, or else my aunt would go all ghetto and throw ah fit.
Ichuckled to myself at the thought of my aunt going all King Kung. I need to look the shits for this party. I headed for my closet and thought of my red short dress with a sweetheart linen.
I took a shower and washed the curl holder out of my hair. Coming out I dried my skin and put my hair in a heating cap to keep it moisturized. I put on my big tee and took a nap. I woke up and checked the clock.
It was 6:56 p.m. Ma should be coming home in minutes. My mind ran onthe Hottie and I just remembered the number. "Right!" I searched through my bag and came across the paper. I grabbed my phone and dialed the number.
"Hello?" A raspy but rathersoothing voice answered. "Um, hey. It's the girl you sat with at lunch today..." I said embarrassedthat I sound so retarded.
C'mon Jade! Pull yoself together girl!
"Ah yes! How could I forget the beauty? How are you love?" He asked.
"I, um, fine I guess?" I said. He laughed, "Are you asking or telling me?" I chuckled a bit.
"I guess telling you, what about you?" I asked. "Better now that I got to hear your voice." I smiled at his comment and I'm guessing he knew it to. "So you changed your mind I hope?" He asked hopefully.
"Yup." I replied softly. "Great! That's good news. So, can I know your name love? Or do you like me to call you love?" His voice sounded mysterious and sexy. I laughed but quickly held my mouth.
"Ah, so she does laugh huh." I stifled a giggle. "It's Jade, Jade Mackenzie. Yours?" I asked.
"Damien, people just call me Dam. But you could call me what you'd like love. Or should I say Jade." I liked the way he said my name. I had to fight the urge of asking him to say it again.
"Cute name by the way. Fits perfectly with your face." He said, sounding so freaking cute!
"I like yours too." I responded.
"So J, where do you live?" He asked. I hesitated.
This is it, no turning back.
I told him where I lived.
"Whoa, your house must be big. So what time is appropriate to pick you up?" As I thought of a reasonable time he spoke "Still there Jade?" He asked.
"Yeah, sorry. I was thinking. Um, 9:15 is good." I replied. I heard him gasp. "You must take forever to get ready. Good Lord. No problem." I laughed, this time not covering my mouth. "I'm a girl, what did you expect?" He laughed his heavenly laugh.
"Ok, 9:15 it is. See you sweetness." He hung up. I laid back in my bean bag chair and flipped through some magazines.
Then I heard the door opened. My heart was in my throat. I grabbed my pocket knife I always keep in my room and creeped downstairs. Then suddenly I heard a familiar voice
"Jade, I'm home."
