Ms. Wills assigned us homework, and the class groaned.

"This is the third day of school for crying out loud. Can't you give us a break?" A girl I've never seen before in my life tried to reason. Then a whole lot of 'yeahs' filled the classroom. Ms. Wills looks like she was about to give in, then the door slams open and who walks in is a girl that is so beautiful from the side.

She has really curly shoulder length her and she's bright as hell.

"Damn, can someone turn off the light." I murmured to myself.

I heard murmurs around the class that was now quiet. "Who is she?" A girl asked, with bright blue eyes. "Damn, she fine." A boy whispered to his friend. He does know that his whisper is more like shouting right?

Prolly not.

While I stared at the girl shamelessly, I noticed how she looked oddly familiar. Then suddenly, like the wind gushed out of my lung system, she turned around. That's when I jerked up out of my seat and rushed to the desk.

"Mara?!"

This cannot be happening to me this time of the damn day.

Where did this trick come from? Matter of fact, why is she even here? Mara left school two years ago and ran away with her drug addict friends. She was one of the smartest girls I knew. We use to be best buds, now for some strange reason, after my parents died, three years later she changed. And not for the better, after that we couldn't stand each other.

I looked at my beautiful cousin up and down. This could not be the Mara we kicked out not to long ago.

"Jade."

She responded flatly. "What are you doing here? Aren't you suppose to be on the streets?" I eyed her suspiciously. She's planning an attack ain't she? I'm a walking dead female. She got her thug friends and pimp surrounding the school leaving no one to survive! Okay, maybe I'm overreacting, but y'all don't know Mara like I do, this bitch is on some serious stuff.

"Hello to you too Jade, damn, can't a cousin get a warm welcome for showing up to school to get her education? Is it a crime?" I stood there staring at her suspiciously. "Yeah, whatever, I suppose." Cutting our 'oh so sweet' family reunion, Ms. Wills cleared her throat. "Well then, how nice of it to know you have a friend on your first day of school.

I suppose you already had you transcript and previous report cards reviewed?" Mara handed the papers to Ms. Wills. "Great, your in this class. Please, have a seat in front of Jade. I take it that you guys know each other well."

Mara smirked as she swished her hips towards her seat. I rolled my eyes.

"A little too well Ms. Wills, a little too well."

I mumbled to my seat. First period dreaded along in an awfully slow manner. I mentally screamed and wanted to head-but every single person. Myself included.

The bell finally rang, and I was glad to hightailed my ass to lunch. Someone bumping into me along the way. "What the f-" my eyes slowly trailed up to Damien's face. His eyes showed amusement as his lips curled up in a smile.

"In a hurry are we sweetness?"

I rolled my eyes as I recognized him. Mara sped past us and I couldn't help but wonder where in the hell she was going at such a speed. "Damien move, I gotta do something really important!" I tried to push pass him, only failing when spun me around. I looked up at his figure hovering over mines.

Jerk.

I peeped down the hall seeing Her figure become smaller and smaller, a rush of determination took over me. I looked at him and put on my prettiest smile I could've mustered up. I placed my arms around his neck, my heart beating rapidly to the contact.
