We were here...
"Jade, would you hurry up and close my door!" Mr. Boom barked. Ugh, I rolled
my eyes and did what I was told. "Sorry, Mr. Boom.." I slid quietly into the back of the classroom and gazed out."Okay everyone, my name is Mr. Boom, I am your AP Chemistry teacher. Let's go over some of my class rules."
I sighed, I could tell already this class would be boring.
"First things first, no gum chewing. I can't stand it. No picking your nose, if you have to do so, please excuse yourself from the class and pick it outside. No passing gas. I don't want you talking while I'm talking...matter a fact, while class is in session. Raise your hand at all times for permission to speak. No making jokes about my name, or about anyone. No laughing, no profanities, no getting up out of your seat.
Use the bathroom before you enter my class. If you are late, please get a pass from the attendance counselor. I expect nothing but excellence from my honors class. If you give me any trouble I will be forced to remove you from the AP Chemistry program. No breathing. No making direct eye contact. If you have a significant other in this class...please, do not sit with them."
My peers look as if they're in shock. "Did this mofo say we can't breathe? The fuck?" Whispered a girl with bright blue hair. A dirty blond headed guy raised his hand.
"Um, Mr. B, are you serious with these rules? Don't you think you're being a little drastic? We are human..." Mr. Boom gave him the eye as if to shut up.
"Yes, I am quite serious. If you can not oblige to my agreements then you may be excused." Dirty blond shakes his head. "This is complete bullshit." The class remained silent as Mr. Boom begins his lesson. He hands out pacing guides and ask us to prepare for a very hard semester. The class groans, and I just slid down more in my seat. "Does anyone have any questions or regrets before I explain this pacing guide?" He looks around.
All I see is eyes wondering around the classroom.
"No? Okay good."
This process takes at least an hour because of all the questions during his explanation. This pacing guide is 58 pages long. I groan as we turn the pages. We are only on page 20! "You have got to be kidding me!" I cursed under my breath. We spend the rest of the class period getting our text books and getting comfortable in our seats. He gives us a paper of requirements we should have by next week Monday.
The bell rings and I couldn't be more happy than to skip my ass to math. On the way to AP calculus, I saw Damien headed my way. I smirked as he came my way. "Is that, a smile? From Jade? This is truly a miracle."
He said as he grabbed my hand and walked me to class.
"What? Boy please, you wish." I sassed.
I noticed how I got nasty looks from girls. And some boys. I wondered why. Then it dawn on me, I looked down to see our hands intwined and quickly removed it. He gave me a funny look, but didn't ask questions. He just put his arm around my neck and continued walking.
"Well thanks for the walk Dam. Get to class! Don't wonder, make sure to pay attention." He chuckled at my motherly nature.
"Yes mom."
He winked. And I swear on my teddy bear my stomach churned at this. I just rolled my eyes and went into the classroom.
I found my seat and sat. I saw work on the board and decided to get to work. Time always flies when I'm in math. I felt myself unravel as I answered questions that came so easy to me. This work is not challenging. I may have to remove myself from this program to a more advanced one. Call me crazy, but I love math with a passion. Baby girl got brains! The bell rang.
"Jade, would you please stay a few minutes after class." Ms. Smith said.
I nodded and waited until the class was empty and it was just the teacher and I.
Is she finna pull some teacher/student relationship type of thing? Cause I don't roll like that. I'm strictly dickly ma'am.
"Uerm, am I in some sort of trouble? Did I do a problem in correctly? I wasn't late for class today..." I babbled on and on until she stopped me.
"Jade! No, no, and I know that." She chuckled. "I just wanted to talk to you about your work. I'm afraid that this program isn't advanced enough for you."
Psh, I could've told you that dude.
"So, how would you like to be moved into calculus 3?" I stood there shocked. "Calculus 3? Is there such a thing?" She chuckled. "Of course, but I'm afraid it's at a university level. Do you think you could handle that? Or would that be too much?"
I had to think about it for a second. I mean, momma got brains, but I ain that brainy for calculus 3.
"Uerm, whoa... Wouldn't that be a bit too much for my brain? Isn't there anything a little lower?" I raced out. "Well, there's calculus 2, but I personally think that it wouldn't challenge you the way you would want. But if that's what you seek. I'll look into it for you." She smiled.
"Oh, uerm, thanks...I'll be heading out now."
I shuffled awkwardly to the door. She smiled once more. "You're absolutely welcome Ms. Mackenzie." And with that I walked off. "I'll look more into this calculus 3 she's talking about." I was lost in my thoughts as usual when I bumped I to someone.
I looked up and it was Damien. "Dam? What are you still doing here?" He smiled that godly smile at me. "What do you mean love? I am your ride home." He chuckled and pulled me by my hand. "C'mon, let's get going. Wouldn't want your aunt to think I kidnaped you."
I smiled at the thought of him kidnapping me.
Oh, you could kidnap me alright. "Oh really now? Is at what you really want?"
We got to his vehicle. "Wait, I said that aloud?" I asked as he opened the door for me. "Yes Jade. You really did." He shakes his head and walk around the other side, and gets in. "Do you want to hang out for a while? Or would you rather go home?"
He asked as the car roared to life. This is a very hard decision. I found my self caught between a rock and a very hot and sexy place. "I'll go home, I'm pretty beat. Maybe next time?" I looked over at him to see he was already staring.
"Alright, no problem then." He smiled. Showing his dimple. The drive home was warm and fuzzy. Not talking about the weather, but his presence. We had a decent conversation, he made me laugh. And in a blink of an eye I was home. "Here you are princess." I chuckled.
"Princess?"
He nodded. "Yes, now get inside and tell your aunt I said hello." I grabbed my bag and headed out. When I looked back he was still there staring.
I blushed and he smiled. I waved, and got inside. Let's just say, that my day went well.
"Ma, I'm home!"
