(10) How Can Silence Speak So loud?

I felt this burning sensation on my leg. Causing me to snap out of my thoughts. I looked down and

saw Damien's hand.

"Your skin is like sweet, rich, and luscious light chocolate, almost caramel. Why are you so beautiful Jade?" His voice full of mystery.

He looked like he was searching for an answer within my skin.

"My aunt says I get it from my mother." I'm staring at this boy, while he's admiring my skin.

"Why'd you move here if London was so great Damien?" I asked in a hushed tone. I saw his face harden and turned dark. Making it impossible to read. His hand receded from my skin and I instantly wanted his hand to come back. I covered the spot that was now cold.

"I mean if it's personal, it's cool." Trying to crack a hole in the tension and let air pass through.

"Um, it's nothing. I, uh..." With that he got up.

Who died on his parade?

He walked back in to house leaving me outside.

The hell?

I looked at the time on my phone. It was 11:15 p.m. With a sigh I got up and made it my mission to find him and asked him what's his problem. First, I gotta find the jerk hottie. I walked in and saw Shelley talking to MY Damien.

What the hell is peoples problem  tonight? Bitch grew horse balls all of a sudden?

I calmed myself before walking over there. "Oh hey Jade, I see you made it." Her annoying little voice spoke.

Why was I her friend again? Must've  been on that crack Mara on.

I saw a clear bandaid on her nose. I smirked "And I see you got your nose fixed." Damien laughed but it quickly diminished as Shelley was giving him the death glare. She rolled her eyes and put her attention on Damien.

"I hope you're having a great time Dams."

Wait... What? Dams? They on nickname bases now? Someone hold me back before I snatch this

heifers snip-ons out! PLEASE!

"Actually, I am. Lovely place you have Shelley. But if you'll excuse me, I'll go take Jade home." Well said Dams. He slid his arm around my waist and we left to go in the parking lot.

What? I can't deal with emotional dudes!

"So, what was that about... Dams? I asked.

"What? Oh, you mean Shelley? She was just asking me how I was enjoying the party."

Bullshit.

"Oh." I responded flatly. "Wait, is Jade'Bear... Jealous? Trust me, there's nothing to be jealous of.-"

"Wait, what?" I laughed. "You think I was jealous? Boy please. I wanted to know why you stormed off like a little bitch when I asked a simple question." As it left my mouth I regretted it. He stopped so abruptly that my heart somehow got caught up in my throat.

"What did you say to me just now? Bitch? Really Jade?-"

"Shit, I didn't mean it like that Damien! I'm sorry..." I said quickly. I gasped at when I heard the curse word. Not once have I heard him curse. My heart dropped to know I had caused it. His face changed. "It's fine Jade." His voice flat. We reached the car. He opened my door but didn't close it.

Well... Wait-a-go Jade. He's mad.. Again!

I seriously feel like crap. We drove in silence. Longest 30 minutes of my life. I looked over at him, not one single glance my way.

Eff my life.

He drove in my driveway. He opened my door and walked me to my front door.

"Look, Dami-"

"Tell your aunt I said goodnight. I had a nice time Jade. See you tomorrow." With that he walked off. He cut me off and walked off... He called me Jade, not sweetness, love, doll, or whatever... Jade. He didn't even look back!

I could've gotten kidnapped in front my own got damn door! I shoved my keys in and headed upstairs. Not even caring that I'm dirty. I grabbed my joe boxer shorts, a tank-top, tied my hair up, wash this gunk off my face, and dived in my bed.

Before I dozed off... I thought of Damien. I somehow felt alone.

How could silencespeak so loud?
