Chapter Twelve

A couple hours later, my mother showed up. “I found a great caterer, a venue, and well a few dresses.” I snapped back at her with a look she will never forget, “Sorry, Olivia. I just am so excited, you know how I get.” I hate myself for being so rude to her; she was only trying to help. “Can I see what you’ve found? I know you took pictures.” She jumps up and down in excitement and brings over the camera from her purse.

We flip through cakes, venues, brides’ maids’ dresses, tuxedos’ and bridal gowns. I was getting pretty excited after seeing everything “Sam was to get married this summer, he hates waiting for big events. I was thinking possibly July? It’s March so it gives us a few months to pl…” Cut off again! What is going on with everyone around me? “Perfect! I looked at dates on the venues that were open – July 8th was open!” I smile towards her, I was excited.

Over the next few hours Sam kept Bella busy as my mother and I looked online at a bunch of details and give her an idea of what Sam and I wanted. It’s already seven o’clock “Sam! We have to go, we’re late, and we have to go meet everyone.” Sam grabs our jackets and shoes. I kiss my mom on the cheek “Thank you Mom.” She smiles back “Anytime Olivia.” I kneel down to Bella “I’ll be back soon, I love you.” She smiles sweetly at us “I love you a lot.” Hugs and kisses then we’re out of the house.

We head to a local bar where I see Heather, Danielle, and Stephanie. They are all good friends from high school, which have always kept in touch with me since I left for college. Heather was pretty tall, which very long blonde hair, baby blue eyes, and a big smile. Danielle was shorter than me with brown hair about mid-length, with hazel green eyes, she had a baby before I did but after a few years she turned into someone I couldn’t recognize. Then there is Stephanie she was a bit taller than me, super long brown hair; she had green eyes always wearing something with the John Deere symbol. She was a complete country girl.

They all stood at the door, waving to us as we got out of the car. They never met Sam but I had shown them pictures and told stories. All shocked at how amazing our story is, they just had to meet him. Sam shakes all their hands as their smile glimmer from a parking lot light. We head inside as the girls giggle and give me a look of approval so far. I couldn’t help but giggle with them.  These girls were so amazing to me; they took Sam in without any questioning.

After a few beers, bottles of wine, food and conversations – it was time to leave it was already past midnight. We all say our goodbyes while Sam goes to get the car “He’s great Olivia, we’re all so proud.” I couldn’t help but blush but they couldn’t see it “Thank you guys, I’ve missed you all so much.” We all hug like we use to “When will be wedding be happening? Danielle asks quietly. I hesitate because it’s so soon “July, we didn’t want to wait long.” All smiles across each of their faces, “When, where – give us details!” I laughed “Well, we’re planning we just started today so not sure I’ll be sending invitations soon don’t worry!” One more goodbye as Sam pulls up to the door. Off we go, tomorrow we were going to do a lot of planning with my mom for the wedding before we left.

The next day was a blur, the drive home went by quickly and we were on our regular schedules. Wake up, work, Bella’s school and soccer, dinner and planning a wedding. We went to our first doctor’s appointment for the pregnancy, and I was at sixteen weeks which isn’t possible – I should have only been about eight or nine. Sam elbowed me when I tried to say something and gave me a look that he’d explain later.

On the ride home I began to ask questions “Why am I sixteen weeks?” He didn’t look at me, “The way the wolf type of pregnancy works is that it is going to be two times faster than a normal pregnancy.” I wasn’t sure what to feel “Will the doctors know?” He didn’t say anything until I yelled “Sam!” he looked at me “That doctor was a ‘wolf’ doctor, she knows how the process goes and nobody knows. The birth is actually like a normal birth, the baby comes out like any other ordinary baby; until it gets older.” I felt ease but still wouldn’t the hospital know after all the paper work? “How does it work with the hospital?” He was still looking at me “Well, they forget your paper work to make it look like your ‘full term’ like a normal pregnancy. Don’t worry, everything is handled. Just keep being the most beautiful fiancée you are honey.” I couldn’t help but laugh, Sam always helped I reminded myself; he knows what he’s doing.

Over the next couple of days we did nothing but plan the wedding. His parents and mine came out to visit us to do a few more touches of plans. After this, I will no longer need to plan anything; all I will have to do is – wait for July 8th to come. Spending time with both of our parents was great; they got along easily which was perfect. I hadn’t picked out a dress yet, I tried to pick one but nothing caught my eye. We spent a whole day dedicated for looking for a dress but I did find some brides maids’ dresses and tuxedos’ for Sam’s guys. I had to get the girls to send me their measurements though.

April has come into place, with flowers blooming everywhere, trees with beautiful green leaves, and animals come out to enjoy the weather. Bella’s schooling was over so she was put into a daycare for the time Sam and I were at work. Since I wasn’t showing yet which was odd, I was trying to put in lots of time in at work so I could take more time off when the baby came.

At the end of the month we were going to go back to West Virginia so I could take the girls their dresses and made sure they fit right. Sam needed to make sure the guy’s tuxedos fit well also. We also had to do taste testing with all the food we were going to serve and also, the cake!

Time went by so quick I couldn’t believe it, we were going to West Virginia to do all of our plans we had set up. Tasting, fittings, and much more – it was going to be fun. The past month seemed great, and Sam started to believe that this Sammie guy had given up. It made us very happy – so we didn’t worry about that anymore. As the days pasted, everything was finally in place but I still hadn’t found a dress. I was beyond stressed out about it; there is no wedding without a dress.

Before we left I went with my mom to some bridal shop a few miles out of town. I didn’t have my hopes up at all, as we walked in a young girl; maybe nineteen or so walked up to us “Hey ladies, what are we looking for today?” I knew her smile was beyond fake; that she hated this job, and she only needed it to help her get through college. “A wedding gown, wedding day is in July.” She girl gasp, shocked that by now; most brides to be would have their dress already to go. “No problem, I think I have something just perfect for you Miss…” I cheerfully said “Pierce” but I said it out of happiness and besides I had changed my name a few weeks ago so we didn’t have to hassle with it later.

The young girl swifts away without a word to grab what she thought would be perfect. As we make our way to the dressing room that was assigned to us. I didn’t have shoes, a dress, or accessories for myself. Thankfully Sam had all he needed; he got it done as soon as we got home actually.

The girl is back in less than ten minutes with a gown in a black bag, a hair piece, a pair of shoes in the original box, a veil and some accessories. I smiled politely “Thank you.” She nods as she pushes me into a dressing room. I didn’t examine everything at all; I just threw it on so I could see the total affect when I looked in the mirrors.
