Chapter Thirteen
Finally, everything is on. I open the door but found nobody there on the couches. I walk into the mirror room which had a 360 view of the room. It was beautiful, and there I saw my mom on the black couch. She had tears in her eyes, for the first time I tried on a dress. The young girl was behind her and she also had tears in her eyes, this must have been one hell of a dress.
I walked onto the platform looking down at the floor so I didn’t trip over myself. I didn’t want to look up; my stomach did flips. What if this was yet another hopeless dress? I was nervous! I lifted my head slowly as I caught myself staring into the mirror. Now, I had tears in my eyes. The whole outfit the young girl picked out was perfect like she said it would be. I gasped, trying to get a hold of my emotions as I twirled slowly on the platform.
The young girl came up and started to fold here and there for alterations. I really do not want anyone to know about this dress, it was THE DRESS.My mother agreed on it, along with a few other employees who all gathered in the room to admire the dress. I grab the tag from underneath my arm ‘$2,381’. What the hell was I wearing – diamonds? I turn to look at my mother; she noticed a change in my emotions as she comes up next to me.
“Mom, this dress is way too much. Look…” I show her the tag but her emotions didn’t change, “We’ll take it, everything on her.” I looked at her like she was crazy “Mom!” She didn’t look back at me, as they bagged everything up and helped us to the car I didn’t start the car up. “Mom, we don’t have the money for this.” She then looked at me, happy and excited as she was “Olivia, I’ve been saying for years for this. If that is the dress then you’re getting it. Your sister got her dream dress, and it was only a few hundred less than that.” I didn’t respond I hugged her instead and whispered “Thank you mom, I love you.” She kissed my cheek and we were off to her house.
We pull up to see Sam and Bella outside playing. He could tell by the look on our faces we had finally found a dress. My mother and I took all of the things we got upstairs so nothing will happen to it and Sam wouldn’t see it. “So, I am guessing you found it?” I couldn’t help but plaster the biggest smile on my face “That’s great honey!” He hugged me, knowing this was the hardest part of the wedding, for me at least. We were leaving the next day to head back home. Time was going by so quickly, I started to get really nervous about this wedding.
Sam and I went over a few things the next month. Making sure everything was set for the wedding, and for the baby. We had to figure out a place for the baby. His apartment only had two rooms, which meant we had to add on. It was now, June. Nerves have really kicked in now; I am constantly asking questions and making phone calls.
Bella was at daycare when Sam decided he would pick me up from work. As we drove, I noticed we were not going anywhere near her daycare “Where are we going?” I stared him down “You’ll see.” Oh goodie, something else to worry me about. Sam wasn’t around much for the past two weeks – told me he was working a lot. It got me worried, but I was his soul mate so I didn’t say anything. We pull into a housing complex; might I add these houses were huge!
All the way down the main road of the complex, to the last street there was a beautiful light yellow house. It had a white porch in the front and back. Flowers were already planted in the front of the house, and the drive way was empty. I wanted that house; it was the type of house I always talked about. We pulled into the drive way of the house I had spotted at the end of the street.
Sam parked and turned off the car, I was still memorized by the beautiful home. “Olivia?” I snapped out of my daze, “What?” He smiled knowing I was looking at every detail of the home. “Come on, let’s go.” Confused I reply “There isn’t a for sale sign, we can’t just walk into this house.” That’s when he pulls out a silver key, “It is all ours.” I jump out as quickly as I could out of the car, run over to Sam’s side of the car. He gets out and I jump on him “Thank you, thank you, thank you!” I couldn’t resist the temptation, planting a huge kiss on him. He smiles as I run up to the door like a young kid on Halloween. “You can’t get in without me.” I laugh, and then pucker my lower lip “Please….” He was walking as slow as he could, looking around at the yard, the houses down the street, and teasing me.
He was so mean sometimes, “You’re an ass!” I run up to him and push him to the door. “Only for you, beautiful” he puts the key into the lock then stops as I make a loud slap against the house. “Honey, are you okay?” gripping onto my stomach he get’s worried and puts his hands to my stomach. “What’s going on Olivia? You have to tell me so I know what to do.” I couldn’t talk, I was frozen with pain. Tears down my cheeks, my body is tense. I stutter before giving him a full sentence “I…I think I am in labor….” His eyes open up very wide. “Oh no, you’re not due for another month and a half.” He flips his phone open to call Senior.
Sam carries me into the house; I couldn’t see anything as I am going in and out of consciousness. Sam’s voice getting worried, as his dad talks to him “It’s too soon dad!” he kept yelling at his dad and then to me but he wasn’t being mean towards me, just trying to keep me awake.
