Kalani's POV

As I came down the stairs I could hear Kee on the phone "See there you go being jealous again." What? Why is she talking to King. I started to wake to her "You don't know what we got going on. She knows I love her and..."

"Well she doesn't love you." I stopped dead in my tracks at Kee's words. "Kee!" She paused and then turned to me. I wasn't sure if I should be mad or hurt. "Kalani" she started to come to me.

"Naw why were you talking to King and how dare you say I don't love her." "Okay first of all calm down. Your she started it. Plus, you don't love her so it's not like I lied." She reached for her keys.

"How the fuck did you know that? You need to mind your damn business that's what the fuck you need to do." At this point I was heated. I could see the anger in Kee's face as she came towards me. " I know because I heard you talking to Teresa last night."

My blood was boiling. "Know what I'm gone. I can walk" I said grabbing my stuff. "Well fuck you to then" Kee called out as I was walking out the door.

King's POV

"Why the fuck is she not picking up" I yelled out. I called Derek since I'm not on terms with the girls.

*Phone Call*

King: Aye yo Dee, you heard from Kalani or the girls?

Derek: No, why wassup?

I filled him in on what happened. I had to get a different prospective on shit.

Derek: Damn bro. But nah you know girls. Being dramatic is their thing. Let it chill for a minute and let her call you.

Derek actually made sense this time.

King: Man.. you might be right. Shit I know where Kalani's heart is at. Shawty Kee just buggin because I took her girl.

Mel's POV

"I don't know. She left the house and said she would walk. It's not that far and she was all bad ass and wanted to" Keyona said folding her arms. "I don't give a damn what she said. Y'all both know better" I clapped back. "Fuck y'all got into it about because you still failed to let me know that shit."

*doorbell rings*

"Mani go get that. Go ahead Keyona I'm waiting." She looked down biting her lip. "King called her while Lani was upstairs and long story short I told King that Kalani doesn't love her."

"You did what?" Jasmine said coming in the kitchen. "Well it's true" Keyona continued. "I overheard her speaking to Teresa." My jaw dropped. Can you say hella tea she just spilled.

"Well look we need all hands-on deck though. It's a fucking school night and going on nine." "Yes, an adventure finally" my kid sung out. "Not you, go to bed" I said interrupting her cheer.

"Man, I never get to do anything" she said going up stairs.

Imani's POV

This is so annoying. I can't wait until I get older so I can do whatever I want. I started the shower and grabbed my phone. However, I can still try, I mean she is my cousin. I should be able to try and find her. I grabbed my phone and called Kalani.

"Ugh she isn't going to an..." "Hello" Kalani voice said on the other line. "Hey Mani. I'm okay just don't tell them. I need to clear my head." "Well okay I guess" I didn't want her alone but I didn't want her mad at me.

"Thank you. Keep your phone on. I'll call you when I'm coming in. I love you." "I love you too Lani" I said hanging up and then getting in the shower.

Tae's POV

"Don't worry I will handle it" I said hanging up the phone. My teammate didn't mind me taking her car out only because of this reason though.

I pulled up to Fishermen's Wharf and walked into the boardwalk.

"I thought I'd find you here" I said walking up to her. "Tae" Kalani turned in shock. "What? How'd you? Ugh Imani told you didn't she."

"Chill out. She's ten and she was worried about you. I didn't tell anyone. She told me that you didn't want the others to know. Hell no one even told me." Kalani chuckled "yeah right. You're basically up my aunts' ass now." She turned looking out at the bay.

I walked up beside her. "Look shit not so sweet okay. You know your little cousin loves me. It's no beef with me and your aunt but we aren't cool either."

"Then why the fuck you stay coming around? I don't want to relive the past and I sure as hell don't need my life to keep getting fucked up now" she said walking away. "Whoa whoa wait" I caught her by her arm.

"Look it's getting late and it's cold out here. Just get in the car I'll take you wherever you want to go even for however long you want to be there. No funny business at all."

She took a minute to think it over then finally agreed.

"Are you hungry" I asked her as we got in the car. "Starving" she replied and I pulled off.

Mel's POV

*Midnight*

"This girl is about to give me a damn heart attack" I said plopping down on the couch. "Well if you do I call dibs on driving you" Alex said smirking. That boy knows damn well I wouldn't let him drive. Hell, my own niece can't drive my car.

"Mel" Teresa yelled "Mel come back here." I rushed up and Keyona followed me. I saw my kid and niece standing at the back door and Teresa waiting with her arms folded.

"Kalani" she ran to her instantly hugging her. "Stop" Lani replied brushing her off and rolled her. "Can I just go to my room please" she continued. "You're still being a bitch and I was here worried about you" Keyona started to go off.

"Your ass had us worried. And what are you doing down here. I told your butt to go to bed hours ago." Before Imani could answer Tae came through the door. "Uh hey um.." Tae looked like a deer in head lights.

"Well spit it out already damn" I was getting more annoyed by the second. "You forgot your jacket" she said handing it over to Kalani.

Everyone was shocked.

"Uh well I see the is grown peoples' business so goodnight" Imani started to to run upstairs. "Wait just a damn minute, someone needs to start explaining and fast" Teresa said stopping Imani. "Well.." my kid began to explain everything.

"So, you and Tae spent time together while we searched for you. Keyona was heated. "I'm over this shit" she said walking away.

I sighed and turned to Mani. "You missy are on punishment. You can only have your phone when you are at school, no tv for the rest of the week and you're staying home this weekend." "Man but" I put up my hand shutting her up. "Give me back talk if you want Imani I'll make it worse."

She huffed and went upstairs. "As for you" I said approaching my niece "I need to sleep on it. Now go ahead and go upstairs."

Teresa and I walked to the kitchen. "I don't know what's gotten into her" I said grabbing a cooler out the fridge. "She's just going through a rough time. Just talk to her" Teresa kissed my cheek.

"Come on we have to go to work in the morning."

Teresa took my hand and lead me upstairs.
