Tae's Pov

*That same night; A few hours before**

"Look it's getting late and it's cold out here. Just get in the car I'll take you wherever you want to go even for however long you want to be there. No funny business at all."

She took a minute to think it over then finally agreed."Are you hungry" I asked her as we got in the car. "Starving" she replied and I pulled off.

"So, what's going on? Why you our here so late ignoring everyone" I asked as we headed into the city. She sighed and laid her head back on the seat. "Kee and I got into it" she said speaking up. "Was it about King" I asked. "Yes. Well no, not really. She over stepped her boundaries I guess you can say" she stopped seeming unsure of what to say next.

"What do you mean she over stepped her boundaries" I asked breaking the silence. She sighed again and paused again. "I haven't been too sure with King lately. I feel like I'm making the same mistakes I did with you. But I wasn't sure if it was that or I'm just scared of being hurt again.

"Okay I'm confused" I admitted "I don't see how that involves Keyona." "Because" Kalani responded with a louder tone of voice. "I was at Keyona's house and I went upstairs right. So apparently King facetimed me while I was still upstairs. Instead of her just letting it ring she answers. So, as I come downstairs I can hear them talking. Then she admits to King that I don't love her."

I braked in response to what she said. Kalani gasped and grabbed the door with one hand and my arm with the door. "Why'd you do that, damn."

I looked behind me making sure no one was behind me and kept driving. "When you say she admitted you don't love King..." She cut me off "because last night when I couldn't sleep Teresa and I were talking. So I'm assuming Kee heard when I told Teresa that I didn't tell King I love her when she told me because I don't think I do."

I stayed silent for a moment taking everything in. "Ever been to Kinara's " I asked.

"Who" she asked. I laughed," It's a Indian and pizza place and they have a hookah lounge upstairs. We have a couple hours before they close. And since I know the owners they won't check your Id."

Kalani rolled her eyes. She isn't 18 yet and I always messed with her about her age. We pulled up she gave me a weird look. "Trust me" I assured her, "it's a good place.""Hey Tae, wassup" one of the workers called out and sat us at a table.

We had a good time catching up but "So what are you going to do with this situation" I finally asked.

Kalani blew out some smoke. "I'm not sure. What I do want to know is what's going on with everyone else? I'm not dumb Tae I notice stuff I just don't say much. You're coming around and Jasmine seems too calm about it even Kee. And we all know the relationship Kee and I have."

"Well what relationship do you and Kee have" I said catching on to her last words. She glared at me "don't change the subject, answer my question." "You really want me to be honest" I asked. "Please."

Kalani's POV

*that same night*

I never would've thought I'd spend time with Tae ever again but a night out was well needed. "Thanks for coming and finding me" I said looking over at Tae. " Hey, you have to give Imani credit for this one" she said making us both laughed.

She cut the lights as we approached the side of the house. I called Imani letting her know to come unlock the back door. I hurried out running through the backyard.
