There I stood, watching my beloved Jake scream and shake in agony. I could do nothing but watch behind the large cage that he currently was residing in. I screamed to let him go, so I could aid him in this time of need. My pleas fell on deaf ears of the crowd above who laughed and pointed in awe. This angered me, werewolves were treated like wild show dogs.
Jake now stood on four black paws, his glowing green orbs looking at the crowd in fury and fear. He bared his teeth and let out a howl that shook his cage. Then smoke filled the room, clouding everyone's vision. I unlocked the doors to Jake's captivity, shifting to a (h/c) wolf.
"Come now Jake! It is time to leave!"
I spoke in a language that humans could not understand. Jake's glowing emerald orbs trained on me from behind smoke, hearing me over terrified people screaming. He bolted out, I was not far behind. We ran into the forest towards the mountains where we ad marked and called our home. My larger mate howled to the moon as we reached our cave and I smiled as much as my lupine form would let me.
He was mine and I was his, leaving our human friends behind to live together. I touched noses with English's.
"I love you Jake. . ."
"I love you too, love. Forever and always."
His larger head laid itself on my scruff, taking in my scent. He was different than me. He would only be this creature till sunrise but I will still love him. Fur or not. He is my mate and I am his.
