It's official. I am surrounded by assholes that are walking poster boys. And they hate each other. Great. My life is now a civil war.
"Get the fuck away from her," Lucas growled. Arc didn't back down, instead choosing to step closer to grab my waist. I slapped his hand away and Lucas smirked triumphantly.
Instead of letting him bask in his supposed victory, I came to him and slapped the side of his head. He stared at me, confused.
I rolled my eyes before storming out of the club. Arc and Lucas ran after me.
I hate fighting in public. Or watching people fight in public. No one wants to see your problems. And I personally don't want anyone seeing my problems.
"Jess, I- " Lucas started before I cut him off.
"Shut it," I say, my voice dark and dangerous. This boy dares ruin my evening and my fun and then hopes I'll take everything nicely. Sorry buddy, I don't do that.
Arc reaches for my arm but I wrench it out of the way and glared at the 2 boys.
"I'm going home. See you guys at school," I say. "And you don't have to pick me up, Lucas."
Lucas looked stunned for awhile. I hate that he ruined my night. It's the only time I get to have fun and be myself. I don't want to waste any second of it with worries or problems.
"Is Arc taking you?" Lucas said through gritted teeth. He spat out his name and I see Arc's jaw twitch.
"No. I am an independent woman that can take care of herself," I say. I lean on my bike and see Lucas's and Arc's bike a meter away.
"I can take you if you want, Jess," Arc offered. I shake my head and was about to answer when Lucas beat me to it.
"She is going nowhere near you," Lucas spat. His eyes are dark and his body tensed. Arc raised an eyebrow in challenge.
"And what will you do about it?" Arc taunted. I glanced between the two. "It isn't my fault that she chooses to spend her evenings with me."
Before I knew it, Lucas charged and tried to tackle Arc. Arc dodged but Lucas threw a punch.
I tried to intervene but couldn't unless I wanted a fist to my face. I tried anyway.
The thought of either boy getting hurt is not a pleasant one. It's ridiculous. I barely knew either of them. But I just can't let them get hurt.
Contrary to what most people think of bad girls, I don't like hurting people. Unless it's for self-defense. I hate fighting someone because of sheer meanness or enjoyment. It's not right.
Arc threw a punch at Lucas's jaw. Lucas couldn't dodge fast enough and his head snapped back. I almost shrieked. A bruise is quickly forming. A smug grin lit up Arc's face.
Lucas barely stumbled and punched Arc in the nose. His head reeled back and he stumbled.
"Stop, you idiots!!" I nearly shouted. They paid me no heed and Arc got closer for another punch.
"Bunch of bastards," I muttered before stepping between them. Arc's fist flew but I caught it in my palm. They both froze in shock. Damn right. I probably looked like a badass.
"Jess, get out of the way," Arc says cautiously. He tugs at his fist but I held firm. I shook my head.
"Not until I get it through your thick heads that I don't want to drag one of you to the hospital," I said. I glanced at the blood running down Arc's nose and the dark bruise on Lucas's jaw. Arc cringed a bit after my statement while Lucas just shrugs.
