If only I could kill without getting a prison sentence. Sometimes I feel like some people really deserve it. But, then again, who am I to judge?

Me and Lucas are just roaming the hidden hallways of the school, peeking into classrooms.
We found out a few secrets.

Ms. Bree and Mr. Rogers are getting it on. If y'know what I mean. Some girls tried to seduce our Chemistry teacher since they completely failed their tests. The football team likes flirting with our shockingly pretty Art teacher.

Now, we're just sitting on a hidden room. Lucas picked the lock and we're now sitting inside. The room is dusty and kind of dark, but most importantly, it's quiet. And we're alone.

Lucas has been trying to convince me all day to not seek out James on school grounds. He says I'll get suspended.

I wanted to scream at him. About how bullies don't get suspended. About how those whores who spend everyday degrading someone else, pushing that person closer to the edge of the cliff of insanity and death.

But I keep my mouth shut, just like always.

"Wanna' hear a story?" Lucas asks. I nod, taking a sip from the soda can beside me.

His hair is a bit tousled and his shirt wrinkled from when I grabbed it. His lips a bit pink and swollen from the kiss we shared a few minutes ago. I almost chuckled at his appearance.

"Once upon a time, there was a kitten," he said. "This kitten seemed very shy. She hid in her bed under her blankets and she only came out when she's hungry."

"That kitten is totally relatable by the way. That kitten gets me," I say. He chuckles and strokes my hair. He has a habit of doing that recently.

"Shh," he shushed me. "But, little did you know, inside she's a roaring tiger. She's fierce and fiery. Strong and brave.

"One day, she met another kitten. This kitten was mean. He mocked her for being so shy around him. She wanted to fight, but she didn't. Because good kittens don't fight."

This kitten is starting to get too familiar.

"But this kitten, we'll name her Mel, she met a puppy. This puppy is sad because he doesn't have any friends. All the other pus hate him.

"But Mel didn't care that he's a pup. They played together and are really happy.

"But, this brave Mel decided to climb a tree. She thought she could rise above her enemies."

Lucas paused for awhile, looking down. I cupped his cheek and rubbed it with the pad of my thumb. He looked so sad.

"And she fell," he finished, his voice barely a whisper.

"I have a feeling this is a metaphor," I say. He looks up at me, right in the eye.

"Do enlighten me with 7th grade English?"

"A metaphor is a comparison between 2 different scenarios or objects without words of 'like' or 'such as'," I explain. I feel like a dictionary. He laughs and ruffles my hair. I swat his hand away.

"Thanks, dictionary," he teased.

"Anytime, idiot," I say with a mock salute. He laughs and kisses me lightly on my lips.

"Yeah, it was a metaphor," he says. The tone darkens again and he's suddenly serious.

"Her name was Melody," he said. I leaned closer, just in case he decides to break down. I want to be here for him.

"She was bullied for being a nerd. But, if she wanted to, she could beat all their asses and barely break a sweat," Lucas says. I look at him, not wanting to interrupt.
