Dean sat on the couch as he worked on the laptop whilst his daughter, Amelia sat on the floor occupying herself colouring in her drawing book.
He looked over at her, a smile on his face as she seemed to be in her own little world.
It's amazing to him still that he even had a child, as Dean didn't ever think that he'd find the perfect woman in his life, nevermind having children, but he did.
She was the spitting image of her mother, from the face shape, to the nose, to the lips, having inherited Dean's hair and eye colour.
Little Amelia, his princess who could do no wrong in his eyes. Dean was never one for mushiness and affection but when it came to his daughter it was game over. She had him wrapped around her little finger.
Whenever Amelia did something wrong, Kaitlyn would tell her off, Dean however would find any excuse to back her up. For example, one time she drew on the newly painted wall of the living room, Kaitlyn went mad but Dean just said that she was expressing her creativity.
It was obvious who was the more laid back parent.
"Daddy.", Amelia spoke looking up from her colouring book.
"Yes princess?"
"How did meet mommy?", she asked.
Dean's eyebrows raised slightly at the question of his daughter, closing the laptop he placed it to the side. "What makes you ask that?"
Amelia just looked up at him and shrugged innocently.
Letting out an amused 'hmm' Dean stood up, walking over to Amelia and picked her up and walked back to the couch, sitting her on his lap. "How did me and mommy meet, huh?", he sighed as his memory went back to the time he first met the then two toned lady who then would become his wife and mother of his child.
Dean then recalled exactly how he met her, well..bumped into her. He couldn't tell his daughter how it really happened, so maybe a small lie wouldn't hurt, right?
"I first met mommy at work, I didn't talk to her at first.", he started.
"Why not?"
"We just didn't talk.", Dean shrugged. Amelia nodded as if to signal for him to continue. "That was until this big bad guy called Ryback started bothering her, so me being me I thought I'd be a hero and save your mommy."
That is such a big lie, but what she doesn't know won't hurt, right?
Amelia's face lit up with a smile at the thought of her dad playing Superman, if not Prince Charming to her mommy, saving her from the bad guy.
"I mean, it was pretty difficult but I got him to leave mommy alone."
"You saved mommy!", she grinned.
"I know! I mean..", Dean sniffed shrugging slightly, trying to playing himself off as it being nothing. "I couldn't just see a pretty girl get bothered like that, so I had to do something."
"You're like Superman."
He let out a laugh, nodding. "Yeah, you could say that."
The sound of the door opening and then closing caught their attention, knowing that Kaitlyn was home. Soon then, she appeared at the doorway of the living room, a smile growing on her face as she looked at her husband and daughter.
"Hey you two.", she smiled as she walked over, sitting down beside Dean placing a kiss on his lips. "What have you two been up to?", Kaitlyn asked.
"Daddy has been telling me how he met you.", Amelia spoke.
"Really?", Kaitlyn laughed slightly, recalling that moment.
"Yep, daddy saved you."
Kaitlyn's laughter faltered, looking at her daughter confused. "Saved me?", she asked again.
"Yes Kaitlyn, I saved you remember? From that big, bad Ryback.", Dean spoke giving his wife a pointed look.
Her laughter started up again as she shook her head. "Dean baby, the only thing you did was apologise several times because you knocked over my krutches, you didn't save me!"
Dean's face fell, tilting his head down slightly only to be met with his daughters stare.
The stare what mirrored his to perfection when he was lied to or angry.
"Liar.", she whispered. "Bad daddy.", Amelia slapped Dean's hand, got off of his lap and ran upstairs.
Well there goes being Superman.
Resting his head back, Dean groaned.
"Thanks, Kait.", he grumbled as he stood up starting to head out of the room, only to have a hand pull on his wrist. Turning back around he noticed the sorry look on her face.
"Dean, I didn't know..", she started.
"It doesn't matter, it's fine.", he cut her off.
"No, it isn't. I'm sorry I should have just gone along with it.", Kaitlyn replied, sighing.
Dean just shrugged, feeling deflated.
Sliding her hands up his chest to rest around his neck, Kaitlyn stared up at her husband. "That may have been how we met but don't think you're any less of yourself. To me you are my Superman.", she said as she placed a soft kiss on his lips.
"Really?", he asked, a small smile appearing showing his dimples.
"Yep, just without the lycra suit, although your old Shield gear makes up for that. God, how I miss you wearing that."
"I know you loved it when I wore that.", Dean smirked.
"I did.", Kaitlyn nodded biting her lip slightly.
"Maybe we should go and tell Amelia another story on how we met, maybe how I was the man in black who saved you from the Authority.", he suggested, holding Kaitlyn closer to him.
"That sounds great.", she nodded.
"And then maybe the old tactical gear can make an appearance after Amelia has gone to bed.", he spoke in a lower, huskier tone.
"As long as you wear the hoodie and vest.", Kaitlyn insisted, the memory of how he used to look in that forcing its way into her mind.
"Deal.", Dean nodded as he kissed her.
