Chapter 14

The next day*

Antonio POV*

We all walked upstairs. We saw someone in Voights office.

Me: whos that?
Jay: not sure
Katie: im gonna go find out
Adam: ill come with you

They walked into Voights office.

Adam's POV*

Me and Katie walked into Voights office.

Me: hi can we help you?
Johnson: hello my name is Sargent Johnson from district 29. Im here to fill in for Sargent Voight.
Katie: we already have one of our detectives as our boss until Voight comes back.
Johnson: no i am. And you should dress conservatively Ms. Jacobs
Katie: how did you know my name?
Johnson: i have everyones records right here so i know all of you.
Katie: i am dressed conservatively
Johnson: no. You are showing too much skin. A detective should not be dressed like that.
Me: look man dont-
Johnson: both of you get to work now

We walked out of the office.

Antonio: so?
Me: hes our new sargent
Jay: for good?
Me: guess till Voight gets back
Katie: i hate him
Erin: why?
Katie: supposedly im not dressed "conservatively"
Jay: your dressed like you and he shouldnt tell you what to wear
Erin: you would say that.

Jay glared at Erin.

Erin: Voight needs to come back now.
Me: i agree

Johnson walked out of the office.

Johnson: Dawson and Jacobs go check out Voight's crime scene. Their giving us this case to work on. Now get to work.

He walked back into the office.

Antonio POV*

Me: so what do you think happened to Voight
Katie: i dont know.. Someones after him..
Me: we need to find out who
Katie: i know. Theres the crime scene.

We pulled up to it and got out of the car. As we were walking around i felt something at my feet. I looked down to see a body.

Me: holy shit
Katie: what?
Me: body..
Katie: oh my god..
Me: call this in.

Katie walked away to call this in. How was this body not found last night? Just then i looked down the hill and saw a car crashed into a tree. I walked down there and found another guy in the car. Someone purposely tried to kill Voight.. Or Voight tried to kill someone else...

Katie POV*

After me and Antonio checked out Voights accident i went to see him at the hospital. I walked in his room as he was watching tv.

Me: your awake
Voight: yeah
Me: how long till your better?
Voight: not sure. Whos running the unit?
Me: sargent Johnson. He gave us your accident to work on.
Voight: why?
Me: he thinks you tried to kill someone. Antonio and I found two bodies about an hour ago. Im gonna work as hard as i can to make sure you dont lose this unit
Voight: why would i kill someone?
Me: i cant answer that.. Ill be back later with someone and we're gonna have to ask you questions..
Voight: alright

I walked out. I plan to make sure that Voight doesnt lose this unit. He loves this job and i dont want him in jail again. I walked back into the district and then i went to the break room. Jay came in after. I poured myself coffee and Jay held out his cup. I poured him some coffee.

Jay: you think Voight tried to kill someone?
Me: i dont know what hes capable of.
Jay: what we gonna do?
Me: fight for this unit
Jay: you sure you want to keep Voight?
Me: are you sure you dont wanna lose your job?

I walked out. I stood by Erin's desk. I was whispering so no one could hear me..

Me: we gotta do something bout Voight..
Erin: you dont think i know that? Our unit is in jeopardy.
Me: so whats the plan.
Erin: we're gonna prove Voight is innocent and that means he has to tell us everything.
Me: i know.
Erin: i mean it. Ill go with you and we will get the truth from him. He built this unit up too high and for someone to come and try to bring it down is fucked up.
Me: well let me know when your ready to go talk to him.

I walked to my desk. Voight cant lose us and we cant lose him. This unit is a family and nothing is more important than that.
