Chapter 44

Voight POV*

I had just come out of a meeting as my phone beeped. I listened to my voice mail as the message was from Katie.

Katie: Hey its me, i got word about where Erin might be. Im going to look. Ill call if i find anything.

I put my phone away and we went back to the district.

Erin POV*

I was about to sniff up some dope. I cant believe im back here but i need to forget about what happened. Just then the door busted open.

Katie: CHICAGO PD!

Everyone froze and raised their hands. One guy tried attacking her. She pulled out her pager and started talking.

Katie: VOIGHT I GOT ERIN AND SOME OTHERS I NEED HELP AND FAST!

A few minutes later Voight showed up. The gang cuffed everyone and i was brought to the interrogation room when we got back to the district. Katie walked in.

Katie; why Erin?
Me: you dont know what i went through.. I needed to do this..
Katie: you realize you might have just killed your first child? Look Erin, if you needed help you couldve talked to someone. No need for drastic measures.

Just then Kelly came in. He hugged me tight and Katie backed away from the table. She left and i knew i really hurt her.

Kelly: you alright?
Me: yeah..

I was shocked he was still talking to me. Voight drove me to the care center to help me get over the drugs. Even though ive had them in my system for days i needed them out.

Jay POV*

We all were in the office when Voight walked in.

Voight: after recent issues Erin will be away for a bit. I dont want anybody talking about this to anyone else outside this room. If you do, you will be taken out by me. Im not letting her lose her job because of one mistake.

He started walking away when Katie stopped him.

Katie: can i come back? You know like when im off from the firehouse?
Voight; sure.

He walked into his office and we all went outside. Katie and I drove home.

Katie: i cant wait to be back.
Me: im glad im gonna have you back!
Katie: i cant believe Erin did that..
Me: well at least shes alive

We walked in the apartment and Justin Voight came out. He gave me a heavy glare as i did the same.

Katie: Jay you remember Justin right?
Me: yeah.
Katie: hes staying here for a bit.
Me: okay.
Justin: sup.
Me; hey.

Katie went to go make dinner and left Justin and I alone.

Me: so Justin how was military school?
Justin: boring. You dating Katie?
Me: yeah. Actually engaged
Justin: well listen, shes like my big sister and if you dare hurt her, ill fuck you up.
Me: easy man. I love her a lot.
Justin: does my dad know about you two?
Me: yes he does.
Justin: surprised he hasnt killed you by now.

We had dinner and Justin couldnt stop giving me a glare.

Adam POV*

I woke up in the hospital with Kim right next to me.

Kim: Adam!
Me: hey baby
Kim: you okay?
Me: yeah.. What happened?
Kim: you were shot.. Took you forever to wake up.
Me: well now i am. And we can get married soon!
Doctor: you get released tonight
Me: perfect!

I saw her eyes tear up as she kissed me.

Doctor: we were able to remove the bullet successfully but there is a lot of nerve damage. Hes gonna have to take it easy for a while
Me: thanks

Katie POV*

I was cleaning the table. Justin went to his room as Jay helped me.

Jay: why does he have to be here?
Me: its only for a bit
Jay: well i dont like his attitude
Me: Hes family
Jay: well maybe to you but to me hes a fucking piece of shit
Me: dont talk about him like that! Whats your problem?!
Jay: you brought him into my house thats the problem!
Me: okay. Your house? Alright fine.

I grabbed my keys and headed for the door.

Me: might as well go to bed, i might not be coming home
Jay: Katie-

I slammed the door and walked out to my car. I had no where to go. So i went to see Shay.

Shay answered her apartment door.

Shay: hey come in! Kelly's here
Me: oh im sorry if i intruded ill leave!
Kelly: we are just about to have drinks! Come join!
Me: okay.

We sat down and they could immediately tell something was wrong.

Shay: everything okay?
Me: Jay and I got into a fight.
Kelly: damn.
Me: and it was about Justin too. Hes my brother and Jay should understand that!
Shay: You take this . I dont work in the men's section.

Kelly smirked and turned to me.

Kelly: listen, hes just uptight about a lot Katie. A lot has happened to all of us in the past week or so. Dont take it personal okay?
Me: thanks Kelly.

I took a gulp of my drink and headed out. I decided to stop by an old friends house. I debated whether or not to knock on her door. Then i turned around and walked away. I got in my car and just kept driving. I wanted to get home because i got really sleepy. I finally did and walked into the apartment. Justin was on the couch watching TV.

Justin: everything ok?
Me: yeah i needed some air
Justin; i spoke to him. Everything's cool
Me: thanks. Night little bro

I walked into the bedroom and went into bed. Jay wasnt around so i just fell asleep. Things have been really crazy but i just cant wait to be back at my desk. And Lowe will finally go back to NY where he belongs. My life is finally working out and hes not gonna come back into my life and ruin it again. No.
