A Family Trip - Part 4

Lilac's P.O.V

I went in and did the audition. I get to find out if I got the part on Monday. But it's Friday! I'm free! And stuck at school....crap.

I remembered I don't have a way home on my walk to the carpark. I dug my phone out of my bag and called mum.

(L=Lilac & S=Shelby)

L- Hey, mum.... I need a lift home.

S- I know. We're all heading out to dinner so we thought we'd just pick you up on the way there.

L- Oh, ok. When will you get here?

S- We'll be two minutes, don't worry.

L- Ok see you in a sec.

S- Yep.

I waited for about 5 minutes before the car came around. I jumped in the backseat next to Will and we drove off.

"So how was school?" Will asked when I got buckled up.

"Is that the only thing you old people can ask us kids these days?"

"Who you calling old?!" Liam sarcastically yelled back at me.

"Not you at all Liam. You totally didn't fall asleep like an old grandfather when you took me and Will to see Despicable Me 3 last Sunday."

"You took her! We said we'd all go tomorrow!" Shelby yelled front the passenger seat.

"And I told them that but why would anyone listen to me?!"

"Lilac Rose Grubble! Your opinion is listened to 24/7, sometimes we don't even get to say anything." Graser exclaimed still looking at the road.

"I know dad. I'm sorry. Hey where we going to eat anyway? I'm starving."

"A nice buffet in town. And kids get in free so yay! Mummy and daddy don't to pay for yours." Will said taunting me.

"I'm 13 you don't need to do baby talk with me anymore."

"You'll always be our baby girl. Right Graser." Shelby said looking back at me and then looked at Graser driving.

"Yep." He replied.

"So dad, when are we going to get a ring on mum's left hand?" I yelled up, embarrassing them. They both blushed and me, Liam and Will lost it laughing.

The rest of the trip was fun. We were like a real family and the staff were waving and smiling at us when we left.

We were in the back of the car, and we were all happy campers. All fed, driving home with a clear darkening sky. My eyes began to feel heavy. All I remember is leaning on Liam's shoulder before falling to sleep.

A little short but I'm honestly more invested with my other books. I'm sorry people who enjoy this one. If you're counting votes this is my most popular book but I think I jumped into this book a little early without much of a plan. All my story based books have character development included, little story-arks and an outcome. I know the rough ending that I want but it'll take a while. Please be patient. It'll be worth it.
