As the house was filled with peace and quiet, the Saiyan Prince continuously tossed and turned as terror began to consume his dreams. It wasn't an uncommon thing for Vegeta to get nightmares that caused his body to shake and his mouth to mumble as he spoke. It was some that has just always been since the day his planet was destroyed and everyone he knew was gone forever. He had moved on as best as he could but his dreams was where the great Prince was most vulnerable. Especially since the day he met Goku.
Vegeta, those many years ago, couldn't believe that another Saiyan had survived the destruction of planet Vegeta. The Prince even remembered a Saiyan baby that had the same hair. It completely baffled the Prince's mind so much that he almost refused to believe Goku existed. He went so far as to getting with an Earthling by the name of Bulma.
But why? Why did the Prince feel the need to get with her? Goku was just another Saiyan, nothing more. Yet, Vegeta knew for many years why he did what he did.
Now the Prince lay in his bed, tossing and turning, dreaming of being a helpless child crying in his room, waiting for the monsters to consume him.
Vegeta held his knees closer as stale tear marks were present on his dirtied face. The young Prince was in the corner of a burning room, watching the glowing eyes of the one who destroyed his home. Vegeta couldn't see the body but he knew Freeza's eyes when he saw them. The tyrant was just standing at the door, watching. It made the child Prince all the more terrified and unwilling to move.
"Vegeta!" a voice cried out, drawing both the attention of Freeza and Vegeta.
"Vegeta Vegeta Vegeta Vegeta Vegeta!" the voice kept calling and calling.
"Kakarot?" the crying Vegeta mumbled to himself, almost refusing to believe his ears.
"Vegeeeeeeetaaaaa!" the voice shouted but more in a cheery tone. At the same time, the room disappeared of flames and was now the outside of Capsule Corp.
Vegeta, still a child, looked around trying to pinpoint the source of the voice. Eventually, Vegeta spotted the Saiyan in his orange gi, with his chipper smile, and waving his arms to get Vegeta's attention.
"Vegeta! Vegeta!"
Suddenly, Vegeta was no longer a child and back to his adult self. Vegeta smiled and ran towards Goku.
"Goku!" Vegeta shouted as he jumped into the younger Saiyan's arms and held him tight.
Vegeta felt hands grab onto his arms and he began to get shaken. "Vegeta! Vegeta wake up!"
"Vegeta!"
Vegeta opened his eyes and screamed as he saw Goku right in his face. Vegeta ended up kicking Goku away, sending the younger Saiyan down to the ground.
Goku laughed as he rubbed his lower back. "I didn't realize I would have scared ya!"
"Kakarot?" Vegeta asked in confusion, still trying to fully wake up. "What the hell are you doing here?" Vegeta looked at the clock and saw it was 6:14 in the morning. "It is almost 6:30!" Vegeta shouted.
"Well I know that," Goku said, seeming confused why Vegeta was stating the obvious and asking so many questions.
"Then what the hell are you doin here? I know for damn sure Bulma and Trunks aren't up yet."
"They aren't!"
"Then why are you here waking me up?" Vegeta growled in annoyance.
Goku just simply giggled and jumped to his feet. "Come on Getes! Get changed! We can't be late! I will be back at 6:30!"
