Chapter 2: Joseph And Persia

Joseph Morgan and Persia White have been married for a year now. They want their family to grow bigger by having kids. Both of them have talked about it a lot to each other. Then one day, Joseph came up with an idea.

Joseph's POV
It was 5:30 in the morning and I just laid there next to the most beautiful woman in my life, with my eyes wide open not exactly knowing why I was awake this early. I was so still that it even surprised me. I just didn't want to wake Persia up. And then I started thinking about it again. Our family.
From the moment me and Persia got together, we knew that we wanted a family. We never wanted it to be just the two of us. We wanted children. Possibly even more than one. I was still laying there in my bed and an idea came to me. Why don't we adopt a child? It would make us happy and we would make someone else happy. For a while there, I thought about what it must be like for those children living without families and that was when I knew that it was a great idea.
Another hour or so of me just thinking had passed. Persia had started to wake up now. I had to tell her. I'm sure she'd agree. We both want this.
"Morning babe," I said to her with my voice very awake.
"Morning. How long have you been awake?" she asked sleepily.
"For more than an hour now."
"Wow! I didn't even feel you toss or anything."
"That's because I didn't. I was very still. Didn't want to wake you."
"Thanks, I appreciate that darling."
It was our day off work today so we didn't have to get up as early and rush anywhere. It was the perfect day to talk about our family.
"Babe?" I called out after a while of silence.
"Yeah?"
"When you were sleeping, I had this great idea come into my mind."
"Oh yeah, what was it?"
"Why don't we adopt a child?"
Without hesitation or any thinking she replied by saying, "That really is a great idea. Yes. You know how much I want kids and I know how much you want them. So, yes. I agree to that."
"Great! We should talk about it more and plan it all out when the both of us are more awake." I said to her with a little laugh in my voice.

We stayed in bed for another hour before getting up. We were both happy to have made that decision. I was feeling great. I decided to treat my wife by being the one to make breakfast this morning. So I did that.

Persia's POV
Today was a great day. Joseph always knows how to make them that way. We were both so happy about making the decision to adopt a child. We would really make a change in someone's life. But just to make everything even better, Joseph had decided to make breakfast this morning. He's a real gentleman.
After having a shower, I walked downstairs to find the table in the dining room already set and the food ready and waiting for me. Joseph was sat at the table and smiled when I walked in. This really is gonna be a perfect day off.
I sat next to Joseph and we both started eating. He had made pancakes. I had nutella on mine and he had raspberry on his. There was orange juice which is what I had but he had coffee.
We sat there for a while in silence, just eating. I was thinking and I could see that Joseph was too. I'm sure we were thinking about the same thing.
"What you thinking about Darling?" I asked even though I was sure I knew the answer.
"I'm thinking about our child-to-be. I'm thinking about whether it will be a girl or a boy, how old they'll be and what they'll look like."
"Me too." I replied and then asked, "What do you want it to be, a girl or a boy?"
"I'm not sure. I think a girl."
"Well you know for sure that I would like a girl."
"A girl it is then," he said with a smile. "You know there is an orphanage for girls nearby."
"Do you want to go and check it out?"
"Sure." he replied.
So we finished our breakfast and after that Joseph went to make some calls to the orphanage to arrange a visit for us. They said that we could go and have a look today. Get to know the girls a little bit and who knows, maybe even we will already make our mind up.
