It was now 10am. The girls at the orphanage were having a free hour where they could do their own thing. Some were in the common room and some were outside playing. Nicole was sat outside on a bench with a sketchbook drawing something. She could vaguely hear the younger girls running around and having a laugh but she wasn't really paying attention to them. Once again, she was in her own little world.
Then, Mrs. Brownfield, one of the ladies who worked there, called everyone inside and said that she had an announcement to make. All the girls went in and everyone met up in the common room.
"Girls," Mrs. Brownfield began, "Today we have some special people coming in. Those people are wanting to adopt a child so they are coming here to have a look in about an hour. So, we are not going out for our usual walk. Instead, you all need to be back in here for 11 o'clock so they can have a chat to all of you." Mrs. Brownfield finished off.
"Do you know who they are?" asked one of the girls.
"Yes, but we've been told not to say." Mrs. Brownfield replied.
Mrs. Brownfield left the room and the girls went back to their own things. Nicole went to grab a book from a shelf and then went to sit back down on the couch she was sat on. Her roommate Jessie was sat next to her.
"So are you excited? Do you think they'll be nice?" Jessie asked.
"They'll probably be nice but I know that they're not coming for me." Nicole replied glancing at Jessie for a moment before going back to her book.

Nicole's POV
I tried not to think about the people that were coming to have a look at us all to see who they wanted to adopt. I already knew that it wasn't going to be me. No one ever wanted me. People would have me for a while and then when it turned out that they were having children of their own, they'd send me to yet another orphanage. I'd be passed around like I was some kind of a thing. From an orphanage to a foster home and back again. I mean, I'd be thrilled if they adopted me. I just don't want to be disappointed again. I tried to hide away my thoughts in the book that I was reading. I wasn't even sure what it was. I never looked at the title or anything, I just grabbed one off the shelf. But I had gotten so much into it, that I didn't even notice that Jessie had gone somewhere else. I didn't really care to be honest. It's not like we were friends. She was just the only person who would talk to me now and again.
It was now 11 o'clock. All the girls who had gone out or had gone somewhere else, were coming back in. Everyone seemed so excited. Except me. I had realised not to get excited about those things anymore. We all sat there for about 5 minutes. There was some chatter going on between some of the girls. And then, all of a sudden, the room went completely silent. They had walked in.
I looked up and reckognised both of them straight away. Since the age of 12 I have been watching all the shows and films they have been in so it didn't take much for me to know who they were. I was shocked to see them here though. Although I was a massive fan and they were my biggest idols, I didn't make myself stick out like the others did. I didn't draw attention to myself. I'm not the one for them anyway. I'm a teenager, they want a child. There are plenty of younger girls that they can have. The youngest one of them is 5 years old.
For about ten minutes I watched Joseph and Persia talk to the other girls. All of them were in groups. And then there was me, sat all by myself. In a way, I didn't want them to come and talk to me but at the same time, I did. And just as I thought that, that's when they noticed me. They finished off the conversation they were having with a group of girls and walked towards me. I started to get a bit nervous as I didn't know what they would ask me or what I would tell them. And after all, they are celebrities which made things slightly more nerve wrecking. They both walked up to me and sat down in front of me.
"Hello!" Joseph was the first one to say followed by Persia saying the same thing.
"Hi." I replied shaking their hands. Even though people knew me as the quiet person, I would actually talk to people if they talked to me.
"What's your name?" Persia asked.
"Nicole."
"Nice to meet you Nicole." Joseph said.
"You too." I said with a smile.
"So I'm Joseph and this is my wife Persia."
I didn't know whether to give myself away at first but decided to say it in the end.
"I know who you are." I said with another smile.
They both smiled back at me and then Persia said, "Well, we would like to ask you a few questions if you don't mind."
"Sure!" I replied.
