"Come on , follow me. We will get there soon." Kathy said as me and Caele followed her from behind.
"Where are we going ?" I asked.
"There's no time for questions."She answered.
We walked passed thick trees and bushes. Although it's day time , the forest is misty. The sunlight was being blocked by the trees, all i could see was shadows and fog.As we got deeper to the woods , the tress grew taller, The fog thickened. I could not see the top of the trees, i could only follow the footsteps of my friends.
Suddenly , i heard a "cracking" sound.
"Do you hear that ?" I asked.
"Hear what ?"
"I heard a craking sound from behind! Someone is here !" I said nervously.
"It's probably just a deer, relax. " Kathy said. "Let's just keep going."
We kept walking , the craking sound seemed to disappear. Yea...just relax! It was a deer. I told myself. I followed Kathy deeper into the woods, keeping an eye on the trees as if something was going to pop out and jump-scare me. As i walked , a ghostly shadow loomed behind me, I shivered.
"Um...Caele? Kathy ? Something is wrong." I said.
"What happened ?" Caele asked.
Just then , the ghostly shadow appeared behind Caele with a dagger in it's hand.
"Caele ! Look out ! Behind you !" I screamed.
I quickly grabbed my bronze sword and sprinted towards Caele slashing the ghost in half and it melted away. Glad i did it just in time, Caele might be dead in a minute.
"Oh my...What are those ?" Caele asked with shock.
"Those are gambas they are evil dead soldier spirits.They killed my dad...and that did not went well at all." I replied.
"Why are they following us ?" Caele asked.
"They wanted to search for the crystal. They wanted to destroy the universe, and wanted to take revenge on us humans. " I said.
"Wow! how do you know all these things ?"
"My mom told me about it , just stay away from them." I said.
I felt a chilly breeze , i heard groaning voices from behind. I turned and saw at least twelve gambas behind us. All holding swords and weapons.
"Oh no...this is bad...real bad." I muttered under my breath.
The eerie scene was like a zombie apocalypse. Though there were no zombies , just a bunch of weird ghost dudes trying to kill us. What fun !
"Layla ! W..what are we going to d..do n..now ?" Caele stuttered.
There's only one word that i could think of,
"RUN!"
