There was a flash of light, i opened my eyes and we were back to California, standing in front of my house.
"Home..." I muttered.
"Layla ! You did it !" Caele said as she hugged me.
"We did it. " I smiled back. Everything looked perfectly normal for a moment. I'm back home again, with my friends. I finished my mission. But deep down inside, i'm still heartbroken, thinking of Kathy made me felt sad. She's my best friend. And she will always be remembered.
"Hey, crystal girl! " Taron said giving me a hug.
"Don't you call me crystal girl!" I laughed.
He looked into my eyes and kissed me on the lips. I didn't flinch or protest this time, i enjoyed the moment very much. Caele was looking at us with a smile on her face.
"Hey, let's go in." I said. I held Taron's hands and i pushed the door open. Mom was cooking dinner as she heard us came in. She quickly stopped what she's doing and went to give me a hug.
"Oh darling ! I knew you would succeed !" She said with her eyes full of tears. "You've broken the curse, you've made our family proud!"
She turned around and looked at Caele and Taron. "Who are they ?"
"This is Taron and this is Caele. They helped me a lot through this mission." I smiled at them.
"Oh thank you so much! Dear friends!" She said giving us a group hug.
"Mom...this is so embarrassing..." I muttered.
"Sorry ! " She said letting go of us. "Can all of you stay for dinner ?" She asked happily.
"Sure." They all said.
That night, we sat down and ate our meal. I got to eat my favourite food- pepperoni pizza and spaghetti. After dinner, we sat on the sofa and talked about our favourite moments of this adventure.
"Mom. I think this belongs to you." I said as i handed the bronze sword to her.
"Honey, i want you to keep this. Father would be proud of you." She said handing it back to me.
"Thanks." I smiled.

That night, Taron decided to stay at my house for a sleepover. After sending Caele back to her house. I sat down at a bench in the garden and looked at the stars.
"Kathy's grandma...I am very sorry for your granddaughter....It's...all my fault...Kathy...i miss you. " I started crying.
Suddenly, i felt a hand on my shoulder.
"Hey...Layla...i know it hurts thinking about her.I know how much she means to you." Taron said as he wrapped a hand around my shoulder, pulling me closer to his chest. I felt warmer in his arms, he made me felt safe.
" Taron...i just...don't know what to do for now. But i really wanted to say thanks to you. You really helped me a lot."
" Thanks to you." he said giving me a kiss on my forehead.
We lay down on the grass together and looked at the twinkling stars in the sky. Everything looked very peaceful.
"We will find her, i promise."
