Chapter 40

After that day, Matt was okay to go walk around and do whatever. And Edd told Matt of course what happened the previous day. They were both wondering the same thing, What were they talking about? Then they decided to try and see what is happening with those two.

"I hope it's not another giant robot..." Matt said while walking down one of the hallways next to Edd. "It might be...but it's a possibility that they might be talking about something different." "Like what?" Questioned Matt. "Um...a death ray..?" "Not very likely...why would Tom be on Tord's side on that idea?" Edd was silent for a moment thinking. "What if Tord is forcing Tom to be on his side?!" He suggested. "Hm, that could be what's happening but they seem fine with each other." Matt said. "Tom doesn't look or act like he's being forced to do anything." He added. "Right..." They both stopped walking and thought. "Should we try and follow them around?" Edd suggested. "I'm guessing that's the only way we'll get to know anything." Matt said, but he agreed to that idea. "Okay, so, you'll follow Tord, I'll keep Tom distracted while you do that. Okay?" Said Edd. "Okay." "Let's do this."

Time skip

"So uh, what's up Tom?" Edd said to Tom while they were in the hallway. "Um...the sky..?" Edd pretended to laugh. "Haha, so funny...um, so..." Edd tried to think of things to ask Tom so he can distract him. Tom looked confused. His eyes on his goggles made a confused face. "...What's your favorite..." Don't say colour! Edd shouted at himself in his head. Tom looked a bit more confused now. "-cucumber?" (If you get that inside joke then I love you) "cucumber?" Tom repeated more confused. "Uh...yeah! Cucumber!" "So...there's more than one type of cucumber?" Tom asked. "Um... pfftt of course there is! Haha...weird that you didn't know that...heh..." Edd said. He actually didn't know for sure if there was more cucumbers out there but he had no time to think about it. He has to pay attention to the task that hand. "Probably normal cucumbers..? ...Okay, why did you ask that?" Tom asked. "It was...the first thing that came to mind..?" Edd answered. Tom facepalmed. "Edd, tell me, are you trying to distract me?" Edd started to fake laugh. "Pfftt- NO. No, no... not at all. Just wanna talk with my buddy. Y-You know?" Tom wasn't buying it. Matt come up to them. "Oh hey Edd, can I talk to you?" Edd nodded. "Um, see ya Tom." They both speed walked out of there. Leaving a slightly confused Tom.
