8. The Date

I wake up to the smell of freshly cooked bacon and eggs, I get up and change into my workout clothes and head into the kitchen. "Morning Babe" Jake says as I walk in "morning" I reply with a small blush, "I cooked us some bacon and eggs" Jake nods at the plates on the table "thank you it smells delicious" and I sit down and start eating.

"How are you feeling?" Jake asks "I'm alright apart from the pain in my legs and arms" I say, and Jake nods "if there's anything you need just ask" Jake says getting up to put his plate in the sink. "Hey do you want to go out for dinner tonight?" Jake asks " haha are you asking me on a date" I say teasingly, Jake blushes and nods "yes" I say and he pulls me into a tight hug.

"Kade I know we aren't talking right now but I want to say thanks for helping save me" I say to Kade who seems distracted with his laptop "it's okay and I'm sorry for being so hard on you lately, if you like Jake then you should be with him" Kade admits and I jump up and down and run over to him and pull him into a hug. I finally have my guy best friend back.

As I'm about to leave to go to the supermarket Tessa walks through the front door and I scream in joy and run to her despite the pain in my legs and hug her "I've missed you bobby jean" she yells in a southern accent "I missed you too sally jo" I say laughing "do you want to come shopping with me?" I ask and she nods her head and we walk outside to the car.

By the time we finish grocery shopping it's already 4:00pm so I start to get ready. I decide to stay casual with a white cropped top and denim shorts and I put some light makeup on. I hear knocks on my door "come in" I yell and Jake walks in "are you ready?" He asks and I nod "you look beautiful" he compliments "thank you" I reply blushing. "Where are we going?" I ask "it's a surprise" he says "but I hate surprises" I complain and he just laughs.

I soon see where we're going, the Hollywood sign, and I smile remembering the last time we came here. "Wow it looks amazing at night" I say in awe and Jake chuckles. He sets out a picnic blanket and brings out a picnic basket, we sit down and Jake grabs two chicken salad sandwiches "ah my favourite" I exclaim and start eating.

After dinner Jake lays down and gestures for me to lay too then he pulls me towards him and we stare at the stars for what feels like forever until Jake breaks the silence "will... y-you be my... girlfriend?" He asks looking scared and I blush "of course" I say and he leans in and kisses me.
