A/N:
Hey sexuals! SO, the state tests are tomorrow. I don't know if you guys know what that is but in New York there are these tests you have to take for Language Arts and Math every year starting from the third grade. But, in the eighth grade we have to take a state test for Language Arts, Math, Social Studies, and Science. The Language Arts one starts tomorrow and goes on until Thursday. They're kind of like regents or finals but for kids starting from the age of eight to kids at the age of like fourteen. So, I think this is my last year taking these tests and then I'm free!!! YEAH YOU GUYS PROBABLY DON'T EVEN CARE... Either way, here's chapter 20 of It Wasn't Just a Drunken Night!

*Dan's POV*
I knocked calmly on the door in front of me, feeling extremely confident with the plan I was about to go through with. The door slowly opened up and the figure before me widened his eyes and looked confusingly at me. “Dan?” he let me into the flat and I sat down on the sofa.
“Hey, how’ve you been?” I asked sounding rather nervous, realizing that I actually haven’t seen this person in forever. He sat in a recliner in front of me and observed everything about me probably because I looked different since the last time we saw each other.
He shrugged and looked down at the ground, “Okay, I guess,” he talked quietly with is American accent. I nodded and we sat in silence for a few moments, trying to figure out what to say.
He broke the silence after a minute and cleared his throat, causing me to look up at him. “I don’t want to sound rude or anything,” he rubbed the back of his neck, “But, what are you doing here?”
I sat myself up in the sofa and looked at him, noticing he looked kind of nervous. He was always a shy person and extremely awkward around everyone no matter how well he knew him or her. “Well, you know how I always promised that if I found someone who’d be good for you that I’d introduce you to them?” I asked, hoping he remembered the promise I made a long time ago. He nodded and his cheeks flushed a pinkish color while he looked down at the ground.
“Wait,” I paused before continuing to let him know about Charlie, “Did you already find someone?” He shook his head and continued to look down at the ground, rocking back and forth slowly in his chair. “Well, I might have someone perfect for you,” I smiled at him as I looked at his jet-black hair.
He threw his head up and looked at me with wide, thoughtful eyes. “R-Really?” he stuttered sounding rather hopeful. I nodded and he jumped up off of the chair and ran to the exit, throwing on his shoes. “Well, lets go then,” he chirped before I could even let him know about Charlie.
“Whoa,” I giggled, “Hold up a minute, I need to let you know about this person first.” He looked up at me with a disappointed look, probably expecting for me to say the worst. “This person,” I looked for the right words to sum up Charlie, “They kind of have a lot of baggage.”
I wasn’t sure if I was clear with what I was saying but he seemed to understand and smiled lightly before continuing to slip on his shoes. He got up with a smile on his face and grabbed his keys, wallet, and phone. “I honestly don’t care about this person’s baggage,” he sighed, “I’ve been alone for so long and I trust you so I’m willing to do anything to not feel so lonely anymore.” I smile at the similarity between both him and Charlie and nod before opening door and letting him out, following behind him and shutting the door.

We got back to the building and got into the lift as I pressed the button to go to the floor the flat was on. I looked over at the shy boy next to me and he bounced nervously on his feet. “Calm down,” I chuckled, “This person is pretty laid back and I feel you two will get along really well.” He stopped bouncing a let out a quiet breath as he looked at the doors of the lift.
The lift stopped and we began to slowly walk towards my flat, him trying to slow our steps with every inch we moved. We were barely moving before I rolled my eyes and grabbed him by the wrist, causing him to wince due to his own ‘baggage’, and dragged him to door. I slowly unlocked the door and let go of his arm as I walked into the flat, him hiding behind my back.
I walked into the lounge and told him to stay behind the corner until I told him to come out. Charlie sat there and looked at me with a nervous expression, knowing exactly what was going to happen. Charlie opened his mouth to say something but before I could, I pulled the guest into the lounge next to me.
“Charlie, this is Christian,” I smiled as Charlie looked over the boy with amazement, “Christian Novelli.” Charlie’s face quickly turned to a red shade and he looked away from the both of us. Christian mimicked his movements, glancing back at him every once in a while. “Christian, this is Charlie,” I repeated the phrase, “Charlie Casey.”
They both looked at each other and I knew I just made a new soon-to-be couple. I looked over at Charlie and noticed he was acting in a way I never actually saw him act. He was actually being shy. “H-Hey,” he managed to stutter out as he turned an even more red color. Christian looked up at him and smiled, lightly waving his hand, “H-Hi.”
I took my chance once I heard my stomach grumble and began to leave the room. “Christian make yourself comfortable and stuff,” I said causally, “I’ll go make us three some dinner.” They both looked at me with terrified faces but I just laughed and walked into the kitchen, beginning to prepare all our meals.
~~
After about half an hour of preparing our dinner I came out of the kitchen, balancing three plates and smiled at the site in front of me. Charlie and Christian were sitting extremely close to each other and laughing, play hitting each other every once in a while. I felt so accomplished and smiled to myself, giving myself an imaginary pat on the back.
I cleared my throat and they both looked over at me, immediately drawing their eyes to the food. “I’m starving!” they both simultaneously squealed before glancing at each other and blushing. I nodded in agreement, pretending not to notice the chemistry between them.
I handed them their plates and we began to much onto our meals. They zoned me out of the room and pulled themselves into their own conversation. I watched in amusement, not feeling left out since I wanted them to get to know each other as well as possible.
~~
After watching films for a few hours Christian got up off the couch and began to slip on his shoes. “I guess I’m going to go,” he sighed, sounding disappointed that he had to go. Charlie groaned and pouted at him, folding his arms, “But I don’t want you to go.” Christian giggled and shook his head jokingly as he got up from the floor. “Hey, you’ve got my number,” he smiled reassuringly, “We can hang out anytime you want.” Charlie let out a huff before lightly smiling a nodding.
He jumped up and ran of the Christian, wrapping him in his arms as he hugged him like he was never going to see him again. Christian hugged bag with just as much passion and I smiled at the obvious love already sparking between the two.
Christian turned and left the flat as Charlie flopped himself back onto the sofa. He looked over at me with a goofy smile and pink cheeks. “Thanks,” was all he choked out as he looked up at the ceiling, obviously daydreaming. “For what,” I looked at him with confused eyes.
“For everything,” he looked back at me with thankful eyes, “For letting me stay here, for being a good friend, for providing me with so much, for introducing me to Christian,” he smiled at the name, “But mostly for giving me a second chance.” I smiled and nodded my head, letting him know that I was there to help no matter what.
