Chapter 19: Angel On Fire

"So have you still been taking those pills?" She asked, clicking her pen and scribbling on her clipboard.

Louis nodded, confirming he was still consuming those pills for the life of him. All he wanted was to remember everything and be back to one hundred percent normal.

"I think I'm going to place you on a new prescription. You've been taking these about a year and there hasn't been any progression in the recent months." She thought aloud

Louis hummed in partial agreement, mind clouded and busy.

"What's on your mind?" The doctor asked as she directed her eyes back to him.

"Hm? Oh, I guess I'm just a little stressed from the wedding and everything, you know." Louis laughed lightly.

"Weddings can be very stressful. I know personally, but something else seems to be bothering you."

"I don't see a ring on your finger?" He hoped for a topic change.

"Not all relationships last forever. But this isn't about me, so don't try and make it that way." She almost scoldingly replied.

Louis sighed, suddenly feelif cornered In this room. His mind searched for a way out of this, when a knock on the door created one for him.

"Excuse me, but the next patient is ready and has complained due to the 5 minute overlap of this appointment. Are you rapping up, or should I reschedule her?" A soft voice traveled through the door.

She glanced over Louis once more, "Send her in. We just finished."

"You can schedule your next appointment with the receptionist. It was nice to see you"

Louis nodded sheepishly and walked out. Silently thanking whoever was too impatient to wait.

"How about this one?" Eleanor twirled in the bright turquoise dress, nearly taking herself over.

"Two things. First, definitely not. The wedding colors are white, red, and black. Unless you want all the guests to stare at you, you might want to tone it down. Second, remind me why I'm dress shopping with you?" Harry raised a brow, tapping his foot as he waited for her answer.

She frowned, before going back into the dressing room. "You're here because no one else would come with me." She threw the lump of turquoise over the top of the compartment, "And once I find a dress we both agree on, we can grab lunch and leave"

Harry grumbled something incoherent in response and shuffled in the car he'd been sitting in for 45 minutes.

"Okay how about this one?" She walked out in a semi shirt strapless mint pastel dress. The top had the fabric intersecting and the bottom flowed very smoothly.

"Yes. We can both agree on that one now change, c'mon hurry." He whined, pushing her to change. She laughed and he stuck his tongue out at her.

"You ready?" Harry asked as he rose of the bench he was waiting on outside the store.

She nodded and pointed to a food court a little down the mall. "Wanna go?"

Harry shrugged, but followed her with consent as the warm building welcomed him out of the cold January air nipping at his skin.

"Okay. Now you need to use your words and pick a place" Eleanor teased, picking a table at random and setting her bags down.

"Mm not hungry, I ate before I came." He lied, stomach turning into knots at the sound of food.

Eleanor pursed her lips, "Fine. Wait here, I'll be right back. And If I have something for you, you're eating it"
