Chapter 22: Young & Beautiful

"Lou?" Harry broke the silence that had been cowering in the air for almost half an hour.

"Hmm?" He hummed in response, appearing to be deep in thought.

"It's starting to get dark, should we head back to Liam's, maybe watch a film on the couch and just sleep?" Harry gently offered

Nodding his head in response, Louis hopped up from the ground. He offered his dainty hand to Harry, who thankfully grasped it and pulled himself up.

In the fading light, Harry managed to find his car, wet from the rain that had finally decided to let up, and clambered in. When he heard the satisfying shut of the door next to him, he started the engine without glancing to the boy next to him.

He heard rustling, and a click before a soft vibration of the radio flowed through the car. A deep voice carried through the silent car.

"The boys were texting me asking where you were" Harry broke the silence, voice croaky as he made a left hand turn.

Louis kept his head turned, facing the window, "Really? What'd they say?"

"Just worried about where you were, your fiancée was freaking out apparently."

"Hmmm" Louis responded, and Harry wondered if he was even paying attention.

Harry pulled into the driveway, opening his mouth to tell Louis they'd arrived, before realizing the blue eyed boy had fallen asleep. All his stress lines had faded, his long eyelashes fluttering against his tan, defined cheek bones. His hoodie had fallen over his hair, fanning out his fringe over his forehead, making him appear younger.

Harry swallowed his thoughts, before shutting his door lightly and crossing to Louis' side, unbuckling him and slipping his arms under the Doncaster lad's warm body, lifting him from his seat and out of the car.

Louis curled into his body, clutching to his chest in his sleep. Harry looked down at him, not being able to control the fond that he felt spread through his whole body.

(if he nearly tripped over a step, no one has to know)

Once he had safely reached Liam's front door, he cautiously slid it open, quickly replacing his arm under Louis not wanting to awaken him. Stepping in, he heard chatter and laughter from the kitchen. Out of habit, he started stumbling towards the kitchen, but decided to lay Louis down first.

Quickly he walked down the hall, pushing his door open with his back and gently laying the fragile boy onto his bed, deciding that he could handle one night on the couch.

Harry stepped back into the hall, leaving the door open only a crack and made his way towards the talking that flowed from the kitchen.

Harry's eyes scanned the scene, a small grin forming on his face as he saw the relaxed situation. The boys, and Perrie, were all in the living room watching an action film. Minus a missing Liam, who he assumed was the suspect making noise in the kitchen.

He dropped his eyes from the room,

and turned his attention to the kitchen. Harry saw Liam finishing up some dishes, scrubbing with his eyebrows scrunched together in thought.

Harry slid into a chair, "Hey Liam"

Liam turned his head to see Harry resting his head on the counter, eyes drooping.

"Hey. I thought I heard someone come in, did you happen to bring Louis?", Harry nodded, "Where is he?"

Harry lifted his head, rubbing at his eyes, "'S asleep. Passed out on the way home, so I just carried him in and laid him on my bed. I'm gonna take the couch, once everyone leaves."
