- 2:30 am: Monday morning, Kou Gasai -
I am studying chemistry when I hear a knock on my door. I mumble a "come in" and continue to study.
"Oh my god!" I look up with a start at the sudden yell. I see Alisha standing at the door, looking at me in disbelief.
"Wha-what is it?" I ask, shocked at her sudden behavior. She stomps up to me and takes all the books away from me, stuffing them in my bag that sits on the sofa. I get up and run up to her.
"Hey! I was studying that!" I pout as she pulls me by my arm and out of my room. "Wait, where are we going?" The obvious words escape my lips as she takes me upstairs and knocks on the kids' rooms' doors. They all come out and look at me in confusion. "Don't ask me, I don't know anything about this."
"Don't worry kids! How about a morning walk?" She asks through her cheery voice as the kids look at her in somewhat disappointment. Alisha looks at them in confusion and them her gaze turns to me. "Why are they like this?" She asks as I giggle.
"They don't like morning walks. Come on guys, let's try it one time." I give them my puppy dog eyes and they look away.
"Fine. Just because I like you both." Shizuka says and runs down stairs. Kaito and Megumi smile at us and follow Shizuka. "See? Easy peasy lemon squeezy." I pull on her hand that is holding mine and drag her downstairs. I see the living room empty when we reach downstairs.
"Where'd they go?" Alisha asks as she walks to the kitchen. I look at the main door slightly ajar and slowly walk outside to see them playing on my bike.
"They're here." I yell to Alisha in the kitchen and walk outside with my hands on my waist. "What is going on here I wonder." I say as they stop pretending like they are driving the bike. All three of them get down from the bike and run towards me and Alisha who just came beside me.
"Sorry, we just wanted to check it out." Megumi sticks her tongue out and scratches her head playfully. Kaito chuckles as I sigh and shake my head.
"Anyway, let's go!" Alisha yells and starts running away from the mansion and down the hill. The three kids follow her as I run behind them.
- 3:00 am: Monday morning -
It is now time for them to get back home since lunch time is drawing near. The kids jog up the hill while Kou and Alisha come behind slowly, chatting about some serious matter.
"I told you it was nothing, I was just feeling sick because of what happened in the bathroom. You know I get like that." Kou defends herself with an excuse that sounds most reasonable and realistic. Alisha doesn't seem to back down.
"No, it is not just your sickness. I know you are hiding something from me and I don't like it." Alisha hugs herself and starts walking faster.
"How can you say that for sure?" Kou walks ahead and comes beside Alisha, looking at her in disbelief.
"Platinum fragment, going in your room right after they leave, taking notes while watching tv and not even talking about it, on top of that- you switched the tv off as soon as you spotted me. You brushed it off without seeming much suspicious with a smile. Surely you know where I am getting at." Alisha slightly glares at Kou as she turns her gaze away.
"It's nothing like that, you are making too much out of these things." Kou mumbles. Alisha goes to protest but is interrupted when Megumi yells from all over the top of the hill.
"Hey slow pokes! Come on up! We have been waiting for like forever!" Megumi runs into the house with Shizuka and Kaito following closely behind her. To avoid more conversation, Kou runs up and into the mansion. She tries her best to not shed tears as she enters the brightly lit house and straight into the kitchen.
