Just the Beginning

So we meet again... Chapter 16

- 1:05 am: Tuesday morning, Kou Gasai -

We all walk out of our exam halls and Alisha stretches without any thought and almost hits a student. I sigh and continue walking with my bag dangling from my shoulder. Alisha apologizes and jogs up to me. I look at her while she looks at me in confusion and nervousness.

"What?" I simply ask as I shift my gaze to my bag and take out my math textbook. Alisha all of a sudden grabs my hand and pushes the books back in. This time, I look at her in confusion as she sweats.

"Don't check anything in front of me please. I so messed up this test, I mean come on. It literally felt like it was our final exam in there!" She points her hand towards the classroom we came out of and I giggle. "It's not funny! How did you do anyway?" She gains her composure and walks straight. I smile in her direction and she gives me a poker face instead.

"I think I messed up too." I keep my smile and she sighs in disbelief while her shoulders plop down slightly.

"No wonder I thought your smile was too big and thin for your usual self." She grunts and we come out of the school building to meet the guys.

"You didn't leave yet?" I ask and they all look at me in different ways. 

"You want us to leave, Butter cup?" Kou sticks his bottom lip out as I stare at him with a bored expression. He looks at Alisha and points at me. "Do something doll!" He says to Alisha as we both sigh and say together.

"Stop calling us that." He sheepishly smiles and Reiji speaks up.

"We are waiting for Kino-" Reiji is interrupted by a nudge on his elbow by Ruki. They both communicate through eyes so we can't understand. Ayato growls and mumbles.

"Kino, yeah. Where is he anyways?" He looks around behind us and into the building with his hands behind his head. "He told us he was looking around the school in lunch time." Kanato looks at Ayato and thinks for a bit before saying anything.

"In lunch? He must be home by now then." He says and everyone's gaze turn towards Alisha and me who have our expression very confused.

"What?" Subaru asks as I snap back and ask them...

"Who is Kino? And why are you waiting for him?" I ask everyone as Alisha nods beside me. All the brothers, even Yui fall silent and look away.

"Um, we are waiting for an answer here." Alisha finishes her sentence when a limo pulls up next to us and a familiar guy comes out of it. The rude guy I met at the road accident scene, the guy who was walking around the school that day... The guy Alisha showed me pictures of. Alisha gasps lightly and I see her smirk from the corner of my eye. His gaze falls on me and his bored expression turns into a confused one. 

"You..." He mumbles with his brows furrowing up further in confusion. "I have met you before. Where?" His hand travels to his chin as he gazes me up and down. I cross my arms and stand my ground. 

"You-you know each other?" Alisha looks at me in disbelief with a small smile still visible on her face. I look at her with an expressionless face but she doesn't even flinch.

"No we don't. And I am pretty sure I don't want to." I look straight at the guy and glare at him. His expression turns a little cold but the confusion is still visible.

"Um, this is... Kino Sakamaki. Our brother." Yuma awkwardly introduces him and Laito looks at Alisha and me.

"These girls are Alisha and Kou." Laito and Yuma try their best to reduce the tension when Kino suddenly widens his eyes.

"You are that girl! From the road accident scene!" He sighs and continues. "Now why are you mad at me? I barely talked to you." He grunts and keeps his palm on his temple.

"Exactly, and the only time you talked to me: your sentence was very rude." I tighten my crossed arms and keep looking at him. He turns to me and removes his hand from his forehead.

"Are you serious? You asked a dumb question. You could clearly see what was going on right in front of you yet you asked 'what is going on here'. What was I supposed to answer: 'Oh, there is an accident with like four cars crashed into each other. I mean I know you can see it but it looks pretty serious. Don't know how that happened because I wasn't there when this occurred. Whose fault do you think it is?'. Is that what you expected? Well then sorry-"

"First of all: I didn't ask anything that was directed specifically towards you. Second: I did not expect any answer from anyone. Especially not from you!" I cut him of before he can falsely apologize to me. I take a step forward in anger and Alisha holds me back. Reiji sighs and comes between us.

"Are you both serious? This is what you are fighting over? What are you- kindergarten kids? Grow up if that is the problem." He looks at me and then turns towards Kino who huffs in annoyance and looks away. 

"You are making too much out of this thing. It is in the past, forget it and move on. I expected better from you Kou." Ruki says and looks at me in disappointment. I sigh as I try to calm down and look at the floor.

"Lets get going Kou, we are getting late. The kids might be waiting." The brothers start walking as Alisha starts to say this but stop dead in their tracks. They all turn towards me with wide eyes.

"We still have a lot of time-"

"Kids?!" They all interrupt me simultaneously which causes Alisha and me to look at them. Azusa walks towards me with wide eyes and puts his hands on my shoulders.

"Kids? From... where?" He whispers in shock as my cheeks start to redden in embarrassment.

"Uh! N-no! They are adopted! Don't jump to conclusions you all!" I cover my mouth in embarrassment and step back as Azusa removes his hands and they all sigh.

"You didn't tell them?" Alisha asks and I shake my head with my face still red. I hear a giggle and turn to look Alisha and Yui holding their laughter in.

"Yeah, very funny. Ain't it?" I lightly glare at both of them and Kino sighs.

"Can we get going now?" He sighs and looks at me from the corner of his eyes with a cold gaze. I reply back with a cold gaze of my own that shows no emotion apart from hatred.

"Yes we should get going now. Some people have a lot to study." Reiji glares at Ayato, Laito, Shu and Yuma while they pretend to not notice him.

"No we don't." Ayato bit his tongue to quiet himself from speaking any further. 

"Yeah, let's go. I don't wanna stay here anymore." Subaru says as everyone waves at us and we wave back.

"Alright, let's get going." Alisha says and we walk towards the bike as the limo drives away with Kou and Laito waving at us from the window, huge cheeky smiles covering their faces. I sigh while Alisha giggles and waves back at them.

"Those guys are weird as heck." I sigh and take my key out of my blazer pocket.

"Yet you still hang out with them. Not to mention have a crush on one of them." She mocks while I think over what she said.

"You know what? I think I am getting over him. He doesn't like me more than as a friend, plus: he has a crush on-" Alisha puts her hand on my shoulder which makes me stop speaking.

"You'll be fine. I'm pretty sure he'll be over Yui and coming after you." She smiles and sits behind me as I put my helmet on and she follows me.

"You have been telling me that since she came in their house. He didn't have feelings for me even before and never will." I sadly mutter and start the engine and start driving. "That's why I am ignoring him as best as I can." I continue as we go through the streets and back home.

"Don't say that!" She smacks my covered head and I scold her for disturbing me from driving.
