Tonight was possibly the loneliest and emptiest I've felt in so many years. Under the dim streetlights, accompanied with the chilly night breeze, it was tough to act normal and not spill a single tear.

So I've always been this weak huh?

My cellphone sat deep in my shorts pocket and it kept vibrating. Perhaps someone was still trying to find a chance to explain himself. But how many more times should I give in before I became completely vulnerable?

I choose not to let my wall down.

So much for the resistance, but the tears in my eyes have formed a blurry vision, and finally, it spilled out.

That's when I helplessly cried my heart out.

Just what had I been thinking the entire time? That I could possibly be the one for Jongdae?

Right...that girl. Helen? Is that her name?

She's probably Jongdae's girlfriend? The thought of this just crushed my heart once more.

"Minzi!"

A familiar male voice roared from a distance.

I snapped out of my pathetic trance and turned to where the voice came from, cheeks still stained with tears.

The silhouette appeared larger and larger until I recognized the face of a best friend.

The tall figure walking towards me was Jake.

"I called but you wouldn't pick up. I went to your house but your mum said you were still at the studio but I was at the studio before I came here -"

"Jake," I choked, cutting him off.

He took a good whole second to examine my swollen face. The gloomy aura painting all over me finally reached to him and got him questioning.

"Shit Minzi...What's up with you again? What happened? Minzi..."

He said worryingly as he wrapped his arms around me. In his hug, I sought comfort.

We didn't talk about it, but he walked me home in a comfortable silence. I've always been thankful for Jake's existence. So brotherly, fatherly, and exactly the best friend you need in tough times like this.

Standing outside my house door, Jake gave me one last hug.

"Please don't think about anything tonight, and head to bed. You can call me if you want. Anytime." He assured.

I nodded weakly.

"Goodnight, Jake."

"Actually! Minzi." He voiced out the moment I turned my back on him.

"Can you stay out tonight?"

He shifted his weight from one foot to the other.

"Let me stay with you tonight, please?" He asked.

"A bottle of Soju for me please." I placed my order.

Instead of returning home, I decided to stay out tonight with Jake for a good drink. Alcohol was probably the best way to relieve my sorrows.

"Why're you acting like this recently Minzi? You used to be so carefree, happy with everything...but now that I'm back, you're always crying every time I see you."

I let out a loud and long sigh. He was probably right. Jake saw me crying almost every time he saw me.

"If I knew I'd be like this. I wouldn't have started, Jake." I faked a smile.
