Minzi's POV

Jas and I were standing outside his jail cage, watching as he contemplated.

"You asked me about my family," Aaron spoke up after much deliberation.

"And?"

"And I had a lovely sister."

We stayed silent and waited for him to continue.

"She would be so happy if she could meet you." He chuckled.

I noticed a lonely tear spilling onto his cheek. He looked so...lonely.

"Did something happen to you, Aaron?" I asked in concern.

He shook his head and discretely tried to wipe the tear away. I saw it already though.

"Y'know, I've never felt this happy in a long time. I made really good friends." He smiled, referring us as his good friends.

"If we're still your friends, then tell-"

"But I have a family to protect. Sorry."

We stayed there with our tongues tied. It seemed almost impossible to convince him to reveal anything further.

We only learned two things. His sister and his family. He must love them a lot.

"And Jas...? I'm sorry for using you." He apologized.

She clenched her fists tight at that.

"You're such a jerk." She hissed and spun around, storming off.

I followed her behind and we abandoned Aaron in his lonely cell just like this.

"Jas! Hey! Wait up!" I called out to her. Her brisk walking was really fast, especially when she's mad like this.

I quickened my pace, almost running, to close the gap between us and held onto her arm before she stormed off any further.

"Hey..." I said softly.

"Zii, I know you think I'm mad and upset at the same time and I'm lying if I say I'm not... But please, not today..." She choked, her eyes brimming with tears by now.

"...I want to be alone."

I hug her without saying a word.

"I'll go and find Jake later, okay? You should go back to Jongdae. He's waiting for you, after all."

"No I'm fine, he's fine. He can wait."

"No Zii. You know me well enough don't you? I really mean it. Go to him, I'll be fine."

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah, please do just that. I'll call you if I need to. I know you'll come running to me anytime anyway." She said with a little smile.

I know her heart was shattering on the inside, but I understood that she might feel worse if I insisted to stay with her than be with Jongdae.

She always put others before her, really stubborn and overly thoughtful - yeah, that's my best friend. Perhaps she needed her own time to get herself back together again.

I hugged her one last time before we parted.

"I'm always here okay? Call me soon. I'm already waiting."

"Okay."

"I love ya," I said before bidding her goodbye.
