The girl squirmed in her seat, nervous for who would sit next to her and how the plane trip would go. She glanced out the window, staring at the left wing of the plane as other passengers walked down the aisle to their seats. Turning back to the others she would soon be sharing the flight with, she scanned their faces. Eventually a woman approached her. "Do you mind if I sit here?" she asked the girl, her voice carrying a slight accent.
"No go ahead," the girl replied, fidgeting with her hands as the woman settled. Inside she was quite relieved; she had worried about having to sit next to someone who was unfriendly. Soon after a man joined them, not unfriendly but keeping to himself more. "So are you going out on a trip or returning home?" the girl eventually asked, surprising herself.
"I'm heading home from a business trip," the woman answered. "I work online as a teacher but had to go a state over from here." The girl nodded. "I'm flying out to visit a friend," she told the woman.
"Is it your first time on a plane?" she asked.
"No," the girl replied, "but it's my first time traveling alone."
"Are you nervous?"
"A bit..."
"Don't worry," the woman smiled. "It'll be fine." The girl nodded and flashed a smile of her own before turning back to the window. While they waited to take off the two talked a bit more, learning about each other's plans.

The plane had been flying for over an hour before the flight attendants came by taking orders. Having grown closer through their brief conversation, the woman helped the girl make her order and receive her drink and snack. They had been through slight turbulence that seemed to follow them, relenting for a while but picking up again soon after.

Sorry that's all I wrote while I was traveling ^^'
