*** Just a little disclaimer, this is perfectly skippable. ***
And, just a warning, this is still being edited so not only is this part absolutely shite until I get round to it- the rest of it might be a little eh. Please let me know where the mistakes are, ta x
Of course, it gives you a little insight to how stuff works but I don't think that its that big of a deal if you don't look at it- kinda like the map in the Lord of the Rings but less complicated cause Jesus that's complicated.

Long before the humans had settled on the giant mass of earth known vastly (and imaginatively) as 'Earth', there were Angels and Demons. All ancient creatures that were perpetual thinkers, always fighting and most importantly- always wanting control. Be it of the land, the sky, the over world or the underworld- they had an opposing opinion on how it was to be worked.
The Angels wished for peace, for harmony and secluded themselves in the Heavens where the sun always shined and the Demons couldn't reach. They were prideful, and even when it was their fault they refused to take the blame and gave it to the Demons. They were perfect creatures who draped themselves with fine white silks even when fighting, with white hair and golden eyes yet when in battle they were not to be trifled with- horrific killing machines not worthy of the name Angel.
The Demons wished for war, for agony and destruction. They revelled in the feeling of blood on their faces, of the power they could feel crashing through them at any given moment. They were not prideful creatures, quick to swindle and taunt at any turn yet they still ducked the blame. Again giving it back to the Angels. They reigned the underground with dark eyes, black hair and smoke yet donned their battle armor of red when fighting.
The King of Demons was named Galigha, who had an imposing presence and deep booming voice- he scared even his people and demanded respect. The Queen of Heaven, Lilivia, was vastly different, with a soft and gentle voice. No-one would admit it, but even the Demons thought the Queen was beautiful.
For many years, each side has battled to gain rights over the humans- as God himself decreed from when the world began and he could govern no longer. They would battle once a year, fight to the death and whoever was still standing was the victor. Many years have passed since the law was decreed, yet the Demons had seemed to be getting better at fighting- able to out-smart the Angels before even the Angels knew what was happening.
Then, one fateful day- outrage was overheard over all the land as an Angel was thrown from Heaven for loving a human. It was unheard of for Angels to be thrown from Heaven, simply unknown. The Demons did not care much but their King was interested, and watched over the Angel until- finally- he had to reach out to Lilivia.
And that is where out story begins.
Demons and their abilities.
Demons are really interesting, as most of them aren't immortal yet age slower than most average Humans. Typically, a Demon is born when a child is stillborn or killed when very young. In some cases they have been known to be taken from people at an older age but as a child is innocent- its typically easier for a baby to become a Demon and be raised that way. Demons aren't typically malicious, they just always want to win and will do anything in order to do that but they are known to be nice. More than often, a Demon teases, bullies or steals things (or people!).
A Demons maturity age is around 100-150 years and when they are first born they have protection runes. What are runes you ask me? Well, runes are pretty simple- they can show a Demons heritage, age or be protective. Major runes, to work, have to be shown such as as an ability to turn to smoke or create fire. More smaller runes such as minor protection spells or healing spells can be worn under clothes or hidden in hair. Runes have to be learned, they cannot be tattooed on or drawn on. When a Demon learns a new spell, it shows on their body. There is no limit to the amount of runes a Demon can have, as runes tend to shift and disappear if you forget how to do one. And... that's about it. Fairly simple, right?
A Demon cannot heal unless healed by an Angel, but they are considered stronger than Angels. They also have the will to change their form whenever they like, so if they wanted to take on the form of a cat they could however this is a very difficult skill to learn.
The three rules in place for Demons:
1. Don't hurt innocents.
2. Don't trust Angels.
3. Lie.
Angels and their abilities.
Angels are just as interesting as Demons, if not just a little bit more. For starters, they are immortal and can heal at will. Typically they are derived from a human taken at the right time- so it was right for them to go. An Angel is not very strong, but to humans they are exceedingly strong. To a well versed Angel, controlling wind is easy and they are able to do it at will however they need to spend a long time dedicated to controlling it. An Angel, if taken as a young child, ages just as normal but appears to stop at age 20 and their age of maturity is a little over 200 years.
There is no known way to kill an Angel- only maim them until they can't move. As I said before, an Angel is typically weak and has a method to call others to help- this is called a scream and sends everything that is currently a threat to them into a seizure until help can arrive. However, this renders the Angel almost unable to move and extremely weak. This is deemed as a last ditch resort.
The three rules in place for Angels:
1. Help all.
2. Don't trust Demons.
3. Never speak a lie.
