Faintly, the car rumbled and sputtered as they drove. It was six in the evening, the sky a dusky twilight and she was thrown back to almost three months ago when it had first started. Stars twinkled yet were dulled by the pale yellow, the pale blues and the creamy whites of the clouds and the sky as a clean and fresh scent wafted through her open window. Demos was silent again, had been since she walked out of the room with Lily trailing after her, and she was decidedly not making any comments about it. Instead, she settled for fiddling with the radio every few minutes.

Hands catching the bottom of her dress, she nibbled at her lip. She had been insistent to come, but was regretting it. What if they were there? What if they took her again? She risked a glance at Demos and startled, his blue eyes were intense as he looked at her. Again, she found herself swallowing. Truly, he was dashing in the dark suit he was wearing. His broad shoulders were encased in the dark fabric, his dress shirt a wine red and his cuffs a simple silver. His hair was tousled, falling down his back in a high pony-tail and she wanted to tug at it. To play with him as he would with her before they...did whatever they did. Morosely, she stared at her hands. She wanted to go back, fall into their easy banter again. But as her eyes met his again, she knew that wouldn't happen.

"What?" Eyes snapping to his, she inhaled quickly. It seemed that he was able to take her breath away with only a glance now-a-days. At her inquisitive look, he rolled his eyes.

"Is there something wrong with my face? You keep staring at me, Cassidy." Shivering, the way he rolled her name in his mouth akin to a caress, she flushed bright red.

"Uh, no. No there's nothing wrong with your face." Babbling, her hands flailed between them and she stopped herself- internally berating herself because of course she'd turn into a blithering idiot the second she realized the depth of her feelings. Eyebrow popping, she watched as her stomach tightened as he smirked. The bubble in her chest burst and instantly she knew they'd be okay.

"I know my face is alright- I'm pretty damn hot." Rolling her eyes, she hit him on the shoulder. Grinning at her, he flicked the radio onto another station.

"Oh hell no. That was my favourite song, Demos!" Squawking in indignation, she turned it back over- batting his hand out of the way. His eyes sharpened an, gleefully, she watched as he became mirthful and as his finger pointedly flicked it back. Jaw dropping in shock, her lips curling at the corners, she flicked it back- joyfully listening to his groans of displeasure.

"C'mon, Cassidy. That song is absolute trash. Get some taste." Rolling her eyes, brows curling into s scowl.

"We're not in America Demos, its rubbish. But it doesn't matter anyway because you like Eminem." At that, his brows dropped and she had to stop from giggling- watching as the scenery changed from the seaside to the schools entrance.

"What's wrong with Eminem, the guys great!" He argued, parking into one of the teacher spaces and turning the car off.

"I'm not questioning his character, his musics shit." Gasping, he turned to her as they got out the car- eyes narrowing playfully.

"You take that back!" Shrugging, she hid the smile on her lips as she turned and started walking towards the schools entrance.

"Don't ignore me Cassidy!" Whining, he dug his elbow into her side as they walked- Cassidy smiling at the ticket taker as she passed her by.

Flashing her teachers lanyard, they walked in with ease- Demos sulking at her side as she bumped into various students. After the first student, he patted her shoulder before dissolving into the vast array of people. It was funny, he was incredibly flirty with the other female teacher (she had to admit that it did annoy her, so much so that she spent the better half ignoring him) before being stone cold to any of the male teachers.

To the kids he was alright, jokey but serious and seemed to be sly with the girls. Every so often he would send her a wink, making her heart race, face flush and her eyes narrow. Catching wind of her expression, he would burst into roaracious laughter which made the girls question what he was laughing at.

She had to hand it to the girls though, all their dresses were gorgeous and tasteful. There was nothing that made her cringe or wince at how easy it would be to rip off. No-one was turned away at the door for indecent dress, and the whole thing was a hit. The food was great and there were minimal tears involved, though the few drama queens who did start were quickly stopped or removed to calm down. Even now, there was energy. A buzz as people danced. Cassidy found herself smiling, she was glad she came.
