When Max was at the foot of the hospital, she caught herself feeling anxious, like she was about to enter a stage, as if she were about to preach to a big audience. Maybe she should wait for Kate to be just slightly better. She might bother her or accidentally upset her. The last thing Max wanted was to ruin their feeble relationship and cause her pain. I could write to her, she thought after pondering about what to do.

"Hi, Marshmallow,
I know you probably are recovering, but If you have time, I can visit?
Room nr? Max xoxo"

Max was determined to see her friends face, and she was optimistic too, so when she wrote to Kate and got a reply seconds after writing saying Kate wanted to see her as well, Max beamed with joy.

"Hi, Max,
Ofc you can visit, I've thought about you tbt, so I'm happy you're writing to me! Max, I really wanna talk with you. I haven't even thanked you for saving me.
Room 247  <3"

Oh! She really thought about me. YAY. Max hurried through the entrance to the hospital. Max on the edge of yelling with a high pitched voice asked. Almost giving the receptionist, who from the looks of it was about to fall asleep, a heart attack from the excited outburst,

Max: "Hi! Can you please tell me where to find room number 247?"
The woman had to look at her computer for a few seconds trying to find patient rn. 247

"Emm it must be Kate Marsh you're gonna visit right?"
She hesitated for a moment waiting for approval, gazing up at Max. Who eagerly nodded in consent.

Max: "Hmm..yes..that's her"
"It's right up the elevator to the third floor, then turn left and all the way down the hall."

The receptionist said monotonously with wide eyes from the sudden shock she received from Max just a minute ago. With no further delay, Max continued down the hall. The elevator was simple and white. Like every other element in the hospital. It's sickening with all that white and plain light. So fabricated and unnerving. The overuse of light ironically made hospital even more frightening, along with the empty halls and corridors of course. Nonetheless, if there were actual "life", people talking and chatting and the level of the sound was quite high, then the place wouldn't feel this abandoned.

The doors opened as she reached the top floor. She then power walked to room 247. Kate's room. Then she wanted to open the door, but as her hand hovered over the handle, Max froze in the movement. What should she say? It's not like they were close, but then again she did rescue Kate op on that roof. Furthermore, Kate seemed genuinely happy about Max. This was actually becoming quite hard to imagine what would happen. The absence of contact with Kate had quickly made her overanalyse the situation. She felt like she was interpreting everyday option over the edge. Max took a long deep breath. Don't be a scaredy cat. Ok, ok here goes nothing.

Now when she scanned the door intenser, she noticed that the door was ajar, but it was very little and a passerby would never see the little crevice. Max sensed how the combination of the seemingly empty hall and the creepy fact that the door wasn't locked not even properly closed. What happened? Max now blinded by fear had no trouble, whatsoever, shoving in the door, but...

Heya readers! I apologise for the cliffhanger, but I really wanted to try it, bear with me. Please vote if you liked. Tell me what you thought about by commenting. LOVE YOU<3
