It wasn't because I was scared.

Yes, maybe that was an overarching factor. But it wasn't the reason that I couldn't voice my feelings.

It was because Jameson hadn't told me that he loved me.

He had hinted at it, but that wasn't enough. I needed to hear it. I needed to know. I needed to feel it in my bones, to hear it in my ears and carry it in my heart.

But he hadn't said it.

I pulled away. Instantly, I got a flash of the same feeling I had always gotten when pulling away from Jameson—a sudden wave of a cold breeze. It washed over me as I tried to ignore it.

Jameson stared ahead, his eyes on me but not quite focused, as if numb from what just happened.

I cleared my throat.

"I should call Alexi." I went to stand up, but Jameson reached out suddenly and placed his palm on top of my hand. I froze.

He stared at my hand. "We never did continue the self-defence lessons." He said.

I didn't move a muscle. "Do you want to do a lesson now?" I asked, trying to ignore the burning sexual tension that ensued.

He nodded, but didn't say anything else. We stood up at the same time, as if our minds were wired to do so. I tried to ignore every single warning sign my brain was giving me, and every single opposing, giddy feeling that my heart was giving me. It was an outright war.

Jameson taught me a few basic moves, and then had me put them into play as he 'attacked' me. I should have been scared as he threw himself at me, but my heart had apparently gotten to my brain; I was now excited. Adrenaline, it's just adrenaline.

I fudged up one of the moves and soon Jameson had me in a hold that positioned me with my back against his chest. We were both heaving. And then he leaned down. I felt his breath on my neck. But he froze.

"Again." Was all he said before he ripped himself away from me. I took a few breaths, trying to shake the weird feelings away. I exhaled and turned. I readied myself for his next 'attack', but when push came to shove, I didn't even move. Jameson threw me against the wall, but cushioned the blow slightly when he realised that I wasn't doing anything.

Despite his efforts, I had the wind knocked out of me. And all I could see was Jameson. We were inches apart, and it was so hard to ignore the giddy feelings that I was getting this time.

He pushed himself closer to me, and my heels met the skirting of the wall. His eyes flickered down to my lips, but that's not where he planted the kiss.

It was on my neck.

It thrilled me. And he didn't stop. I laced my fingers in his hair and mentally begged for God's mercy.

I wish that God gave it to me. Because neither Jameson nor I was aware of the door opening.

"Hey, Sky, did you know that your door is unlocked because–" It was like white noise. But I managed to break out of it and I shoved Jameson off me. He caught himself, but went reeling backwards, heaving as he went. And then, at the exact same time, we realised what was going on.
