It's all too much. Everything I've done to keep the rules were wasted as soon as I saw Fate. Only I didn't know that until it was too late. Until I was staring into the eyes of a boy that saw just as much as me. Until I was surrounded by a pack of people not willing to let me slip away. I didn't know their motives. I didn't care about their reason. I just wanted to disappear again. So, I ran.
I know lots of things. Sometimes without trying. Like even now I know that as I am running Avery is trying to come up with a plan. But she can't stay ahead of me. Silas is closing the gate. But I already know other escape routes. Hunter is chasing me. But he can't keep up. Max keeps moving things into my path. But I know where they will be before they move so I go around or change directions. Kinsley has started humming as loud as she can. But with everything going on in my head I can't concentrate to hear the song. Nora is trying to calm Lila and Eli who don't understand why I am running and are crying. And Aiden? I stop behind a tree to catch my breath and look around. Where is he? I don't see him or feel him like the others.
Suddenly Aiden appears in front of me. He touches my forehead with his finger and simply says "Sleep" before I can even react to his presence.
My eyes close even as my body protests. His arms catch me as I fall. Even as I collapse under his command my mind is fighting to be free.
I let him in. I shouldn't have touched him. When I touched his hand, I saw him but he saw me too. I've always been good at hiding, or running because I knew when no one else did. But I'm not the only one now. Aiden knows.
Someone finally saw...everything...saw me.
